I'm so insane
I've been leery of reading ctrlaltdel because the current story arc involves lucas finding a girlfriend ... but he's mine, dammit! anyway, today's comic made me happy ... yeah. when the fictional romance of a cartoon character can make or destroy your day, maybe you should find something else to place meaning on in your life, you think?
this week has been very draining, mostly because tim (the general manager at leisure time) is at gencon so the rest of us are having to fill in for him ... which means crazy hours and not as much getting done (as there are certain things he does that most of us can't or don't know how to do). so I stayed after a half hour last night to finish up some stuff, and another 2 hours today ... none of it on the clock. which isn't really that big a deal, I just want people to know how wonderful I am. : )
yesterday was esp. stressful at the store -- I was there for 7 hours, we had three shipments to recieve, tag and put out on the shelves and, after selling NOTHING for the previous 2 hours we sold $140 rabbit set-up at 8:40 and another $140 rabbit set-up at 9:00 in the evening (we close at 9:00). and while I'm happy that both people getting the rabbits were interested enough in their well-being to ask me several questions about rabbit care and behavior, I wanted to go home!!! ooh well, hopefully there are two well-loved bunnies out there at the moment.
for those of you not in the know (and who care), I've decided to take this semester off from school and perhaps the spring semester as well. on one hand it feels like a massive mistake as I worked so hard to get back to the UI only to decide to leave it again. but a few months ago I realized that I've been happier and more stable working at leisure time than I've been in a really long time and that's what's most important, right? I think so. granted, there is the long-term to think about, and I have been, but for now this is working for me and I'd like to enjoy being happy for a bit. and I freely admit that going to UI and majoring in crop sci was a mistake (masha, you may begin saying "I told you so" now ; ]). I'm moving out of the house across the street which I think will be another good thing. I have a roommate who I think will work out fine -- the only thing that is slightly concerning is that we don't know each other very well (I've met her once). but I didn't know rachel or kinner before I lived with them, and they were both great roommates so .... yeah. worst case senario we don't get on very well and we spend 6 months avoiding each other. but based on talking with her I think it will go better than that. we're looking into apts around town -- her lease doesn't come up until early november so we have some time. which is actually really nice since a lot of places are desperate to fill their final vacancies and are offering really good deals. we've already found one apt we like a lot, we're looking at a few more and I'm pretty sure we'll end up somewhere we both like. which is a reassuring thought as I'm a little nervous (first apt and all). ooh, and apparently I passed the credit check, which was nice to find out. I don't think there's really any reason I wouldn't pass it, but .... it's nice to know for sure that there wasn't a problem.
because I'll be moving into a smaller place soon-ish, I bought some storage cubes (also known as nic cubes or neat idea cubes) and I'm going to build bunny condos for hektor and mimi. I'm hoping to end up with something along the lines of this (not a great pic, I know). basically a cage with levels so the bunnies can run around without having the cage take up too much floor space. we'll see how it goes .... I'm pretty excited.
haze just got here (I've been sitting outside his apt stealing someone's wifi) so I'll sign off for now ....
