My friends, I have come to the conclusion that there is a direct correlation between the weather and the kind of day that I am having. The past two days it was rainy and nasty and my job hunting went no-where and I kept running into all sorts of snags while looking for housing for the fall. Today the sun is shining, I have an interview scheduled for Tuesday and the apartment searching is going much smoother. *beams* This correlation probably isn't going to continue to hold true past today, but for today I shall take great pleasure in it.

I've been been enjoying the couple of Colby-centric fics that has been posted over the past week for lgbtfest. Actually, the stories that I've been reading in the fandoms that I know have mostly been of a pretty high quality, so I would highly recommend poking around that comm.

And finally, spuffyduds made a compilation post of her wonderfully awesome Hugh/Callum fic that she wrote for ds_aprilfools. It is up to NC-17 in parts, set during the period before HCL when Callum was touring with The Headstones for background research and makes wonderful use of Midori. *draws hearts and flowers around the fic* I haven't been able to find good words to tell her just how awesome it is, but you guys should read it, tell her how awesome it was, and then let me comment to second your motions. :-D

Uncommercial Song by halcyon_shift. It is a lovely tribute to all those glorious shows that were awesome despite (or perhaps because of) a lack of commercial success. I didn't recognize almost any of of them, but they all made me feel warm and gushy and The Black Donnellys! (Which is totally a valid emotional response. *g*)

The Negotiation Limerick File by harriet_vane. Bandsmush spy AU! Basically it takes all the joy and laughter that a spy AU should contain and runs with it. Also, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE IS LITERALLY SAVING THE WORLD. AND MIKEYWAY IS A COMPUTER GENIUS! ♥

Finally, I am certain that anyone who really cares has probably already seen them, but the new BSG promo pics are PRETTY.

(And notice my restraint in not reminding you that Gabe Saporta is my new favorite thing ever. Or that Gabe/Greta is my new happy place FOREVER. SUCH RESTRAINT you guys! :-D)

So now it comes, the time of year when I need to explain to the world at large that NO I do not love Valentine's Day ONLY because I get chocolate from my parents, but because they give me a new Pez dispenser every year too! :-D

Seriously, I can understand why some people hate today, but unfortunatly, I am not one of them. I kind of embrace todays LOTS because it is a day devoted to sugar and telling people how much you love them. Really, made up holiday or no, those are two of my favorite things, so I am not seeing the downside. AND SO! As part of my mission to make EVERYONE, regardless of their relationship status/worries about enforcing compulsory heterosexuality/feelings of cheap manipulation realize that today is a UNIQUE day to tell the world at large (and the people you are closest to) just how fucking AMAZING they are with out them looking at you like you have two heads, I bring to you

And now that the authors are up, I can 'fess up to what I wrote! For the DSSS, I wrote Symphony for Band (A Love Story in 5 Movements) for exeterlinden. Can I just give a very LARGE hug to exeterlinden for giving me SUCH a wonderful prompt! Seriously, such a fun story to write. Vecchio/Stella in high school, and I think it might be the best thing I've ever written. It has some flaws, which I suspect I'll be going back to fix in the next few weeks, but on the whole, I am pretty proud of what I accomplished with this.

And for yuletide, I wrote Ho Ho Ho and a Bottle of Vodka for romancandles. This didn't exactly accomplish what I set out to do with it, but I am satisfied. I do like my Oliver, but Geoffrey and Ellen sound kind of mixed up. I just wish that I didn't suck at smut, because the ending WANTS to be a drunken threesome! So know that if you read it, the ending is seekritly quite porny. It is just hidden somewhere!

So I posted my first story ever at ds_flashfiction on May 29 of this year. Just a little over 6 months ago. *blinks* Where does the time go!?! Seriously, it feels just like yesterday. And in that time I've gotten to know so many WONDERFUL people. *beams happily at the flist* So THANK YOU ALL so very much for just being you! For bringing crack into my life, for making me like RPS, for making me enjoy incest, for squeeing with me, for hugs, for glomping, and for just EVERYTHING. Thank you so very much - I love you all!

So what I get from this is that I might be fanwhorish when it comes to reading, but for writting, I pretty much stick with BSG and DS/6 Degrees. For next year, I think I'll probably stay the same (although I might be brave and venture into Gilmore Girls) but I vow to finish my WIPs, conquer my fear of how sucky my smut is and write more crack, because that is FUN! :-D
