I'm drowning in Britishness.

I got Sweeney Todd and Fortysomething on DVD last week. I'm sure everyone knows about Sweeney Todd already because every Johnny Depp fan talked about it and we are large in number.
Still... SQUEEEEEEE I finally own that crazy assed messed up musical of win.

Also I bought Fortysomething because Hugh Laurie is the main actor, it sounded good, and Stephen Fry makes an appearance. It's even better than I thought it would be. It's hilarious and odd. I don't even know how to describe it.

I got Blackpool in the mail yesterday. It's a bizarre-darkly funny-camp-semi-musical miniseries. David Tennant (the Doctor in Doctor Who), David Morrissey, and Sarah Parish are in it. I've already watched all of it. I've been waiting to get it for a few weeks because I bought it on ebay from Austrailia.

BBC America has put up the audio commentary for Doctor Who Season 3 episode "Last of the Timelords" to be downloaded.
It's the audiocommentary that didn't get on the US or Canada DVDs. It has David Tennant, John Barrowman, and Freema on it. It's so awesome, I already downloaded it. They're hilarious together.

The POTC: At World's End preview looks fantastic. It actually made watching bits of Dancing With the Stars to be able to record it worth it.

Is it weird, though that even though I'm super excited about this film I'm almost more anxious to see this come out?

Then again, I'm not sure I want the trilogy to end so quickly.

I'm also playing the Homicidal Barber from the sketch of the same name which is from Monty Python's Flying Circus for a Drama fundraiser performance with my friend Anna. (She plays my oblivious customer.) I think it made most of Drama class think I'm psychotic. Oh well, that's a good thing that I acted that well. lol
Maybe that's part of the reason why I am looking forward to Sweeny Todd so much...
Anyways the performance is Saturday, and I already have had everything memorized for a while.

Also I've been able to record the first 2 episodes of The Tudors (a Showtime show with Jonathan Rhys Meyers in it) they were being shown early on some free channels. It's a great show. I also found out that they're going to have a short marathon of Jonathan's show Elvis on Showtime on the 31st.



I'm finally going to be able to see Elvis! SQUEEEE!

I've also been watching The Riches which stars Eddie Izzard. What's with celebrities I like suddenly having more TV shows?

On an all new episode of What's My Disease?

Hello and welcome to What’s My Disease? wherein I come back from the doctor and explain how I’m fucked.

For those who missed the last episode of What’s My Disease? I had a cough, stuffy nose, headache, phlegm, and an ear infection. Later the ear infection was beaten to death in a small victory and the cold went into hiding.

In the new episode that started last Thursday I have basically relapsed and all the symptoms are back except the ear infection. To make up for this the disease decided to become full blown strep throat. The bastard.

How does this week’s episode end? I’m taking antibiotics 3 times a day for a week and hoping this illness doesn’t morph into pneumonia or something.

On a happier front I was able to see my friend Naomi this weekend while I wasn’t too ill. (I totally lysoled the house so she wouldn’t get sick and washed my hands a million times like the germaphobe I am.)
We had fun. We watched all of Gormenghast, parts of A Bit of Fry and Laurie, 2 episodes of Jeeves and Wooster, 2 parts of MI 5 (the Hugh Laurie parts), Eddie Izzard: Dress to Kill, 3 scenes of Moulin Rouge, and something else I can’t remember at the moment.

Yeah, we really rushed to see all of that. She’s great fun. Anyways she really managed to cheer me up, and we listened to some of one of her new CDs.

Speaking of Cds I finally managed to download all of Avenue Q the Original Broadway Cast!

It’s bloody brilliant. My friend Tiffany gave me a CD so I could burn a copy for her too. She’s going to be so hyper when she gets it. :)

I also watched Benny and Joon again lately. That will always be one of the cutest sweetest romances ever! I just want to huggle Sam so bad.

Oh yeah Anna, if you're reading this BLOODY REPLY ALREADY! sheesh.

I LOVE BORDERS!

Today I went to Borders. While I was there I bought some really cool things.
1.) The Nick of Time DVD (I only had the film recorded from the TV with commerials before).
2.) Queen interviews: Bohemian Champions (I'm glad I bought it because there's great footage. I think it should have cost less though because there's a lot of really bad sound/picture quality. It had the 70s Japan interviews, though.)
3.) Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert.
4.) The POTC 2 junior novelization.

The best part is that my birthday is next month so my mom was looking for presents for me, and buy some so my siblings could pay for it so it would be their present to me. 

This means I will have the collected Horatio Hornblower films for my birthday!!!!
She also got The Who Live at the Isle of Wight which my sister is probably going to pay for.

It's Official!

Sweenie Todd is going to happen and it will be another Tim Burton and Johnny Depp movie. (SQUEEE!)

It's now official. Martin Levy, a spokesman for DreamWorks, who are co-producing with Warner Bros, states Depp will do his own singing in Sweeney Todd. Filming starts Feb 5, 2007.

I’m so tired about people complaining about Johnny, or in some fans cases his role of the homicidal barber.

He has played psychotic CIA agents with no eyes brilliantly, and yet they are worried about watching Johnny play this?

The only reasonable worries that people have is if Johnny can sing well enough. First of all John Waters kept Johnny’s original singing audition tapes for Cry-Baby because he thought they were great. The only reason he didn’t use Johnny’s voice was because it wasn’t “Elvis enough” so we know he’s a good singer in one genre of music.

Then Sondheim said he was going to make Johnny take a voice test for this film. Either Johnny passed or he’s in major singing lessons for this role. Never forget that Tim Burton is also a perfectionist. He’s going to want great singing in this one.

I for one am not going to continuously worry about this. I have faith in his acting, and that’s the most important thing to me. As for his voice, I think that it will all work out. None of the fans are in control anyway so stop crying, and just lean back and enjoy the ride.

Johnny Depp to Quit Acting at 50? Haha NO.

I am so sick of magazines taking little bits of Johnny Depp interviews and emphasizing them to turn them into a big deal.
Here’s the latest bit of rubbish that’s panicking newer fans that aren’t use to hearing this crap:

Pirates Of The Caribbean star Johnny Depp is nearing the end of his acting career, insisting he will not appear on screen after he turns 50.

The 43-year-old heart-throb is concerned that his ageing appearance will affect how he is seen by the public.

He says: "I won't last in film much after I turn 50. People go on about how well I look for my age, but what happens when it all drops? I could end up as the Cliff Richard of film." 

Ok now imagine the interviewer's "insight" wasn't there. All it says now is: He says: "I won't last in film much after I turn 50. People go on about how well I look for my age, but what happens when it all drops? I could end up as the Cliff Richard of film." 

This is still fishy. Even if he did say it he just means it will be harder for him to get jobs. Johnny has been noted for being one of the few good looking actors to NOT like his looks. He hated being a teen idol, he is looking forward to aging, and last month he was talking about how he'll act as long as people keep giving him jobs. Plus he loves to attempt to uglify himself in films. (eg. Edward Scissorhands, Fear and Loathing, Blow, The Libertine, and in Ed Wood he loved walking around with the fake dentures out. He also tried to get Tim Burton to let him where a long fake prosthetic nose in Sleepy Hollow, but Tim said no.)

Hell, Tim Burton wrote a poem about Johnny and how he feels about his looks that sums it all up:

There was a young man
