There was no hesitation, no "I'm sorry it has come to this." Only Magneto's certainty of what must be done.
Mystique knew the mansion like the scales on the back of her hand, even after so many decades. Cerebro's blueprints were easily memorized. They planned their attack. Charles had left himself so vulnerable to them, the two mutants who knew him best.
Magneto--Erik--turned his back to her. "After we've won...we'll build his memorial."
"Yes," was Mystique's only reply. Alone, she disappeared down the cold, sterile hall.
