San Diego Navy Wives

My husband and I ( including our daughter) moved to San Diego almost 3 week ago.  My husband is in the Navy and he has just left on his 6 month duty westpac tour.  I'm trying to connect with fellow navy wives and find come connections.

I'm looking for family who have chidren or who doesn't. It doesn't really matter. I'm 30 years old. I have an Art degree from the Kansas City Art Institute.  I'm creative, outgoing. I love cooking, entertaining, movies. I like getting out and seeing things

My daughter Lily is 2 . She has a great sense of humor.  She is talking and learning new things every day. She loves the zoo......

With out this sounding too much like a personal ad...... I just want to connect and befriend people who are in the same boat ( no pun intended) as I am.

Maybe it won't be so lonely when the men are out doing their thing... and we can pass the time by doing our thing....

Hi, this community seems pretty small and Im not really sure who watches this anymore.. but I am new to this community. My name is Gina and we've been out here for about 3 years now.. hanging in there because we have to be out here.. Cant wait to leave San Diego, thats for sure. Im a mother of 2 little girls, one is 3yrs and the other is 1yrs. I dont have too many friends out here because of all the moving we've done plus seeing alot of our friends moving. Well this time in 2 weeks EXACTLY I will be on a plane getting ready for take off to Japan! I am so full of emotions right now it is crazy! I know I am PMSing...but we are talking one SERIOUSLY PMSing gal here!!!! And the poor receptionist at Personal Property had to get the grunt of it all. Working reception I know how difficult it can be to constantly get nothing but complaints because you are the first person they see when they are mad...but it is the hazzard of the job that you have to deal with I guess and grow a frickin spine. I feel bad, but it was seriously frusterating. NEVER deal with San Diego Personal Property I tell ya at 32nd Naval Base - they frickin SUCK!!!!! There is NO SUCH THING as customer service over there I tell ya!

Anyways, my baby girl promotes from Pre-K tomorrow - which is also a spiral of emotions for me. Seeing her all dressed up in a cute cap & gown, oh it is all just way too much to handle. Anyone want to trade places for me while I go into emotional/mental overdrive & try to reboot myself back to reality...it will only take about 2 weeks or so to do so - once we land in Japan and I get ove the jet lag, I'll take back over....anyone anyone? It's up for grabs!!!!

Well I'd better go get some sleep before I get so tired I make someone cry tomorrow too!!!!!

Miss you all, can't wait to get to Japan so I can be a better poster!!!!

So we finally got our flight arrangements made today! WOOHOO!!! Just now have to pray that Mother Nature is a kind Mother and doesn't let either Japan or California get up to 70º on our date of travel so Sye can come with us! :)

So when do we leave you wonder? June 20 at 12:30pm!!! WOOHOO...it only an 11 1/2 hour flight too yeah!!! I know that is still 1/2 a days travel, but it sure beats what I've been told and was seeing as 16hr flights! We'll get into Japan at 4pm on June 21 - YEAH!!!! I am totally happy about this, it is SUCH a stress relief.

The great thing also is, there are 3 other women from teh ship on this flight with me. And only one of them doesn't have young children. I have the oldest children of the batch...the other 2 only have 1 - 2 year olds, but it will still be nice to have someone else on the plane with kids. We've all talked and we are all going to tag team for one anotehr...so if we need to get away or sleep we can with the comfort of knowing someone else will be watching our kids run like wild children! :) I am going to take the kids to the doctors next month and see if she can give me something that will knock their rears out...but in case she won't/can't...I have that double protection now!!! :)

I did buy a book from Amazon this week called 52 Fun things to do on a Plane, so hopefully that will keep them occupied long enough...okay well it is 2 and I am finally tired, so I am going to go hit the hay for 4 hours then up to shower & take the kids to school, go to the dentist, then clean house & pack for the camping trip we go on Thursday morning. Woohoo!!!!

Our dependent entry approval finally came in today - yippeee!!!!! It's finally "official" with the Navy - we are ALL going to Japan! YEAH!!!!

Now to book out June 20th flight!!!
