So, we all know what Rapunzel's art looks like.

But the longer I think about it, the more I think that the closing credits are supposed to be specifically Eugene's art style. Let's start with the map:

It's sparse, not too detailed, and includes things like a picture of Maximus labeled with "avoid this' and an arrow in the ground labeled "got shot here." If it was a pre-existing map, he'd have more pictures of trees to contend with, not a piece of parchment that's clearly being filled in as it goes.

Also, the art during the credits are all things that he was present for or knows well, even if he wasn't involved.

There's even a few things that didn't make it into the movie!

So given this, I say that if Claire Keane is the official artistic hand of Rapunzel, Shiyoon Kim is the official artistic hand of Eugene Fitzherbert. (And that the series blatantly got wrong/is not canon-compliant with how well he draws.)

One thing I’m really interested in is the relationship Rapunzel might develop with medicine once she loses her magical hair. Because the idea that all this time there have been people who study to heal others, in a fallible and imperfect way, but always with room for improvement, developing techniques and theories to accomplish what she had always been able to do naturally, as a gift from heaven... It would be wonderful for her. Just imagine how much hope it could give her!

Been browsing the Tangled tag today (as I do every day now lol), dived too deep into its corners and saw some takes my soul feels the urge to respond to.

We know that the wedding is canon - well, no one can ignore Eugene's words about it at the end of the movie and the entire short clip dedicated to it. But you know what else is canon? The "lived happily ever after" thing which a particular part of the fandom tend to ignore. This phrase literally means that Rapunzel and Eugene not just married, they also loved each other deeply and genuinely and lived a long and happy life together.

So, they can imagine whatever they like with post-canon, but it's not the type of ending where things are uncertain with the main couple's future. It's very obviously said out loud that they never get separated. So their imaginings will never be canon-compliant, they will always be canon-divergent.
