So I recently got accepted into SMU, and as I'm fairly sure this is the place for me, I've been wondering a few things. I've perused through the website, SMUSA boards, and the livejournal, but I just wanted to get some clarification on some things. Some questions may be stupid and redundant, but here goes:
The accommodations for frosh seem to be singles and doubles. Are the apartments completely off-limits to freshman residents? Also, do the singles have a private bathroom, or will I have to share?
What dorm would you say has the least partying (this doesn't mean it has to be the most boring floor in the dullest dorm on campus, just not one that has keggers or parties every other day)? Also, do these dorms have stairs or elevators? I'm going to have foot surgery over the summer, so I don't know how mobile I'll be concerning stairs.
What exactly does an Entrance Scholarship entail? And how do I get that/use that? Are there specific things I have to use it for, like residence fee or tuition costs? Or can I use it like pocket money for school-related things?
Are there any things I should know as an international student? I have never really lived outside of Korea, and as westernized as it is, and as westernized as my life growing up here has been, I'm pretty sure moving to Nova Scotia will put me in culture shock. Are there any pockets of Korean/Asian stores/communities around?
Thanks in advance for answering my incessant questions.
