Students Against Incompetence in Business of UNO

Great Job on advertising, everybody! I think we have enough of a baseline to start acting. Everyone who has had problems with UNO, type up a full list and description of every difficulty. I'm thinking we can get it all on paper and assemble the whole into a small sampling of the major and minor problems plaguing the offices.

Once we have this assembled, all will sign and we can distribute it accompanied with a manifesto to as many departments as affect our cause. The Chancellor and Dean are in my opinion the most important. It seems to me they will have to take some stock in the issues if a massive document collectively assembled by over 100 students is sent forth.

This will be our peaceful, "there's a problem" wake-up call to those who may be sympathetic and willing to re-order.

Further action, especially advocacy-based, will be determined based on their response (or lack thereof) and student-need in view of time.Get your materials together and in a few days I'll get you an e-address where we can coordinate the manifesto.

And please please please if you feel up to taking on a leadership role please contact me. I cannot do this alone and will need to split up the work.

So for the fifth time in the past two weeks, I went in to UNO with my verification form and my mother's tax information, only to learn that I had to fill out another form that had to be signed by my mother that contained the very information detailed on the verification form and on my mother's tax return.

Guess who's headed back to UNO later today/tomorrow?

At least it's not as bad as the guy next to me, who confessed he had brought in his dad's birth certificate twice, and both times they lost the information. Just as I left, I heard him speaking to his financial counselor; apparently, they lost paperwork he brought in two weeks ago.

Also, a few notes for those of you who are going to be going to UNO this week:

1. Financial aid is in the library, and unlike last week, does not open until 8:30 AM. However, more than a few students were lined up before then.
2. If you don't get your meningitis shot or a waiver, your classes will be dropped. Apparently, an e-mail was sent out about this, but I never got it. Go to health and student services on the second floor of the UC to find out more.

Advertise! Get as many people on this boat as possible. Send invites to every friend you have at UNO.

Those of you who wish to help moderate and lead, shoot me a line and we'll parcel it up. It will take time and energy.

But the most important thing right now is manpower. The more we have the more seriously the university will have to take us. Onward!
