Fangirl Mode Activated

Got a little further in Xenoblade and totally forgot what I wanted to say about it. Oh well, I'll stick it in the next post. :V

I recently found the company that localized the more recent Tales Of games (8-4 Ltd.), and the totally amazing (smaller) company that was responsible for other shining beacons of localization, such as FFXII. It's called Kajiya Productions. Aaah, I'm so excited about all these company pages! Oh, and Aksys Games (another localiz...er?) has an online shop, which, unsurprisingly, has really awesome item descriptions. They also sell shirts with their logo and ohmygodIwant. Then when people ask me what Aksys Games is, I can tell them about localization! (Honestly, that's probably a conversation no one but me wants to have, but I love talking about it. OTL)

I want to send them all fanmail.

Um, mostly unrelated, but I've been plodding through some pretty honestly god-awful romantic (original) badfic, but it looks like it might be sort of long and I'm considering posting it in pieces as I get reasonable chunks done. They don't really constitute "chapters" as far as I'm concerned. I'm just wondering if anyone on the face of the earth besides Azzy wants to read this thing, haha.

I'll probably just wimp out and not post it, but at least you've been warned.

Yaaaay! \o/

DKSJFASLF I WAS ACKNOWLEDGED /loser

Square Enix (who, I must admit, in all my glorious bias, has awesome contests) posted the winners for their recent Final Fantasy: 4 Heroes of Light contest. ...I took like a week to find the results, since I was expecting them to post them on their blog. Apparently not.

Anyway, I didn't win, but I was at least mentioned under Judge's Picks. *u* In case it's not left on the site forever, the quote boxes were as follows:

Description: (mine) "Beekeepers can defend allies from damage. They are primarily magic-users, [but are] similar to oldschool FF knights. Have decent magic attack and high magic defense. Cannot choose to attack physically but can counter-attack physically ("Sting") using bees if struck. Can use honey (similar to old FF "Pray") to restore small amount of HP/MP to party."

It sounds kind of garbled because of word limitations. Oh well. And this is their blurb!

Akihiko Yoshida, Character Designer & Art Director: "It's very cute and fashionable. Shaping the staff into a honey server was a great idea. I wonder if the bee can sting?"

Didn't read the description, apparently, but that's totally cool with me. |D

The winners are listed here if you want to check them out. I think Mad Scientist is my favorite.

Fangirl Illness OTL

Army of One. Oh. My. God. Remember my selective gayness for Lightning? Well, it just increased exponentially.

Lightning is sooooo cool!!

EDIT: I just realized my journal entries must make me sound really bi-polar or something. Whoops.

Fangirlism +1000

I'm going to give you my honest opinion of FFXIII so far, but without console bias or other lame review enjoyment-inhibitors! What do we say? "Yaaaay!"

Um, I don't doubt there will be Final Fantasy fan bias to some extent, though. Sorry!;; It's happy bias, at least!

I think I need to make a SO4 post, too, now that the end-game agony has started to ebb away. I did make all those terrible predictions, after all!

HECK YES

GUESSWHATGUESSWHATGUESSWHAT!

Wal-Mart actually got pre-orders for Final Fantasy XIII! This is the first time they've ever gotten pre-orders for a game I actually intended to buy. I'm so glad! I was starting to go into nerd worry mode over whether or not I'd get a copy, and now I'm guaranteed one. Thank yooooou.

Speaking of pre-orders, here is the pre-order page for the Holy Orders, which is an English Tales of the Abyss anthology focusing on the characters from Daath--namely the God Generals, Ion, Anise, and so forth. If you're interested, please buy a copy. The artists will love you forever, and it's not like English Tales of fanbooks come around very often.

I finally started Persona 3: FES this month at the prompting of everyone on earth. (I had a game backlog, okay?;;) It's really awesome, has badass music, and has the potential for really amazing replay value. (Watch as I make the same choices in subsequent playthroughs anyway, though.)

Also, I'm really proud of Canada and how we're doing in the Olympics! Everyone's awesome, but I'm glad Canada seems to be doing better than usual. I know some people are all anti-Olympics--and for totally legitimate reasons--but you can't stop the event, so you might as well enjoy what you're being given, right?

You can do it, Canada! Punch that Global Warming in the face!
