In the Gospel, Jesus promises the Apostles and to us that He will send us an Advocate to be with us always. This is the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth. The Spirit will lead and guide us to be the presence of Christ in the world by our words and actions.
How do we allow the Holy Spirit to work in our lives? Do we ever pray for guidance?

We are a Roman Catholic community located in Haworth and our parishioners come from all over northern Bergen County. For several generations, we have been an important part of the families we serve spiritually. Through the reverent administering of the Sacraments, our religious education, and our many parish ministries and outreach programs, we strive to create a caring bond and sense of community to all our parishioners. It is through these many venues that we bring faith, hope, and charity to all.
If you are new to our parish, we hope the website will serve as an informative introduction to our church and a very warm welcome to Sacred Heart. Our doors are always open!

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY MASS
Cardinal Joseph Tobin will celebrate a special Mass for those celebrating 5, 25, 50, and 60+ years of Catholic marriage. This Mass will take place at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at 3pm. Family members are welcome to attend. If you are celebrating one of these special anniversaries and plan to attend the Mass, please call our office at 201-387-0080 so that we can register you. The deadline to register is April 14, 2026 -
2026 MASS BOOK
Each family is limited to a maximum of 10 Masses.
This restriction applies to Masses for people who died prior to the beginning of September, 2025.
There can be no exceptions.
However, if you family requests 10 Masses for 2026, and then someone dies later this year or next year, you are still able to request a Mass for that person.If you tend to have a lot of Mass intentions, perhaps you would consider having
several family members remembered at one Mass rather than individual Masses.
Following are other options available
in which you can remember a loved one:
1. The Bread and Wine used at Mass (for the month)
2. The Sanctuary Lamp (for the week)
3. Altar Flowers - (for the month)
These remembrances will be listed in the bulletin right below the Weekly Mass Intentions column.

HEARING ASSISTANCE SYSTEM FOR MASSES AT SACRED HEART
A new Hearing Assistance System has been installed in the church. It can help anyone who has difficulty hearing, especially in a large building. Anyone wishing to use one of the receivers should speak to one of
the priests before Mass.
