*pokes head above ground*

Okay, so. I am not dead! Again. >_>

RL has been a pain in the backside for a long time, and though I'm making stabs at getting back into writing again (and have written a few bits, though nothing much), but it's harder going than I anticipated. I feel like I need a fresh perspective on things. Does anyone have any suggestions/prompts/writer's-block-breaking advice to share? I really appreciate any help you're willing to give, flist!

Help for Kentucky tornado victims

I just found out that the school in Salyersville that my mom works at has been condemned because of tornado damage. They don't know when or where they'll be able to set up classrooms again to finish out this school year. Some 1200 students have been displaced, and the Community Center building is full of storm victims, so they can't take them there.

West Liberty has been leveled. There isn't a single home or business left standing in the whole town. The school is gone, the century-old courthouse is gone, along with its still-under-construction replacement, the old Methodist church that stood at the corner of Main for a hundred years is gone.

I can barely believe it. It's like a nightmare, only I never wake up.

What's craziest about this whole thing is that it seems to be already starting to fade from the national eye. Both of these towns need help desperately. This is a poverty area. Most people can't afford insurance, and certainly can't afford to rebuild--especially with the businesses they relied on for income destroyed as well.

Anyone who can donate to help these areas, please, we would be eternally grateful. I've got some links to a few of the more reliable disaster-relief and rebuilding assistance organizations. And please, if you can't afford to donate, pass the word along.

OMG you guise

Thank you so much to those who left me valentines, I can't tell you how surprised and happy I was to see them, considering how fail I've been at actually interacting with folks for too long, now. I appreciate you all so much, you've made things brighter, and I really needed that with the endless piles of work building into a mountain this semester. Hopefully, I can make it up to you wonderful people at the end of this in a couple of months, and I attain that mythical thing called free time.

Twinning the Hatchet rewrite, chapter 4

Popping on for a couple of moments to post this while I'm actually sitting down; semester starts back wayyyyy too soon for me, and it's my last one so it doesn't look like I'm going to have a lot of free time to actually do anything fandom related for a while after it begins. This is last completed chapter of the rewrite, but chapter 5 is well under way and I hope to have it in a postable condition soon, provided I can either get it done before Tuesday or else shoehorn it in between class stuff and all the other fics I'm working on/coauthoring. >_>

Apologies if I haven't responded to folks in a while; I really appreciate everyone more than I can say.

A warning on this chapter: it contains graphic, gratuitous sticky sex. Please refrain from reading it if this is something that you'd prefer not to see. ^^;

Damn Skippy Designs shop-related announcement

I’m popping in to let everyone know we’ve got a clearance sale going on over at Damn Skippy Designs. We’re taking the shop in a different direction, and all Transformers-themed items have been reduced in price to clear them out as soon as possible.

Thanks so much to everyone who helped with the shop, most especially nkfloofiepoof, mmouse15, naggingfishwife, and greenangel, who helped hugely at Botcon, and everyone who bought something or supported us online. rageai and I really can’t express how much we appreciate it, and I’m sorry we’ve been remiss in saying so sooner. You all deserve far more thanks than we can ever express.

It was a difficult decision to make, but what we were doing wasn’t working financially and it’s become necessary to shift gears. We both still love Transformers, and I’ll certainly still be posting fic here. This actually seems to have freed us up to enjoy TFs more, while at the same time we’re making significant progress, both on commissions and on new items and a new look for the revamped store.

We still have Jazz, Cliffjumper, and Bumblebee scarves, and an assortment of mech-themed postcards, all of which are greatly reduced in price for quick sale, so check ’em out while they’re still there!
