Holiday Ro-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-ads...

Cathy and DJ are flying off to Ireland now, I am leaving Sunday night to join them on Monday afternoon in Ireland. In the interim: Movies, relaxation, and then a medium length flight.

Just a quick note before I leave for vacation: You guys and gals are great, I love you and miss those I have met, and look forward to meeting those that I have not yet met. To see where you all are vs. when we first met (online or otherwise) makes me proud to know that you list me as a friend. You are amazing people. You are wonderful to me, and I think the world of each of you. Imagine a large, hideous man giving you a bear hug right now. Be safe, have fun, and I'll see you when I get back.

Rock band Metallica

The Siblings picked up RB: Metallica, and I have been doing my job as designated Singer. My fingers are too stiff to play guitar or bass, and I am not coordinated enough to drum, so I get the mic. I've gotten the hang of it, and as I said to What, I would have killed for this game 20 years ago in High School. I was a huge Metallica fan, and this has a ton of great tracks from back in the day. The guys look odd though, now that they have been caricatured, Or as I like to call them: Cro-mag, Capt. Jack Sparrow, Coke-puppet, and Pippi Rockstocking.

I wish there were more Misfits/Danzig on this, and that they had put in Whisky in the Jar or Jailbreak instead of The Boys are Back in Town. Also , given Moterhead's history they could have included something more recent than Ace of Spades (something off Inferno maybe? Fight? All in the Name of Tragedy?) Until I am running my own game empire, I can't really complain.

We have all the retro/zombie guys unlocked, and will likely pop back into RB2 soon (Go Hogwazzers!) as there are a few new songs we need to improve on, as well as some old ones we can rank up on. Hitting/holding the last note on Painkiller without stopping has been a highlight of the game for me so far (Can't... Stop... The... Paaaain-Kill-aaaaaaaaaaaauuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh PAIN!) and one that will be hard to duplicate unless I start practicing it again.

Cooking (and raw)

I made lamb in the Crock pot over the weekend, with carrots, onions, parsnips, and potatoes. Delicious! I reserved about 1/2 of the veg. I tossed them with olive oil and some sea salt and then roasted them in a pan covered with aluminum foil. Perfection!

I read about something called a Gorilla Sandwich last week. I thought I would try to make something similar at home - so I stuffed the cucumber with spinach, dried cranberries, feta, walnuts, and the cucumber-yogurt-dill sauce I made from the hallowed out bits. I ate it today for lunch, and it was ok. It would have been better if I had diced some onions, maybe some carrots or avocado as well. Hummus would be good as well, possibly some egg salad. It needed a little more texture for my liking, but at the same time it let me eat a salad without a fork, which was cool. Also, the various ingredients were kept nice and moist, and everything was delicious.

Saturday I cooked up a rib eye steak from Trader Joe's, which was fantastic, just a really great steak that came out tender, juicy, and delicious.

No photos this time, everything was just begging to be devoured!
