Friday Five - 29 May
May. 31st, 2026 05:53 pm 1. In an average week, how many nights do you eat home-cooked dinners?
At least five, sometimes six
2. Do you plan your meals out in advance, or just wing it?
I plan loosely, when I do a grocery shop, but mostly I wing it. I tend not to cook to recipes either, I just make it up in the moment based on what ingredients I have at hand.
3. How many nights per week do you eat out or order food delivered?
One, sometimes two.
4. Do you keep a stock of nonperishable foods from which you could whip up a meal or two if you needed to?
Always. Dried pulses, rice, couscous and pasta, tinned stuff etc. It's not like a prepper's store though, it's just stuff in the cupboard that I cycle through fairly regularly.
5. Have you ever tried preparing meals for the week all at once, say, on the weekend?
Hell no, not for a whole week. But I do often purposefully cook more than I can eat in one meal, and put extra portions in the freezer for later (not necessarily the same week).
