Hello,

Thank you for writing for me! I'm super excited we matched and I can't wait to see what you come up with.

General info:

My AO3 username is rubiconjane.
  •  I'm fine with receiving fic of any rating
  • Any POV/tense is fine
  • I am open to receiving interactive fiction!

Likes:

  • worldbuilding and immersive settings
  • unusual formats of storytelling: epistolary, multimedia, interactive fiction etc
  • canon divergence
  • role reversal
  • seemingly unrequited pining
  • becoming the mask
  • conflict between love vs duty
  • "be careful what you wish for"/wishes gone wrong
  • "castaways in time"/time-travel fix-it gone wrong
  • amnesia without the miraculous recovery of memories
  • competence kink in survival scenarios
  • revenge schemes/manipulation backfiring with interesting results

DNWs/Dislikes:
  • inclusion of ships I didn't request (unless my requested ships are endgame, in which case it's fine)
  • non-con
  • character death
  • de-aging
  • issuefic
  • mundane AUs, unless otherwise specified

Where there is potentially conflicting information between my general and fandom-specific preferences, please go with the latter.

David Blaize - E.F. Benson
David Blaize, Frank Maddox

Link to the book on Project Gutenberg.

Oh man, to say that my David/Maddox feelings are strong would be a massive understatement.

(My god, was this novel the iddiest & most sentimental thing ever or what? I mean:

David falling in love hero-worship of Maddox at first sight! Maddox trying to become saintly for David, and then his emotional self-flagellation after the bathing pool incident! Maddox reciting romantic poetry to David while swimming! Maddox having to cane/paddle David and not being able to finish it! David being possessive and wishing to continue fagging for Maddox! Maddox's self-loathing re: his own beastliness! The boys dreading their separation when Frank has to leave for university! David not being able to choose between watching Frank play cricket or kissing Violet Gray! Maddox sitting vigil by David's bedside for twelve hours to save his life! David waking up and asking Maddox to hold his hand!!!)

Anyway, I would absolutely love shipfic for these two.

(Notes:
- I have read David of King's, so there's no need to worry about spoiler-ing me. It's totally up to you whether you want to incorporate or ignore the canon developments in DoK; I really don't mind either way.
- I am cool with Hughes/Maddox, though would prefer a David/Maddox endgame.)

Prompts:
  • David's convalescence after his serious illness/brush with death at the end of David Blaize: I'd love some tender conversations and feelings being developed/deepened and Maddox nursing David back to health! Did the confrontation of his own mortality spark a realisation in David?

  • One idea I find really interesting is a role reversal AU where their ages are reversed. Obviously there would be some departure from their canon dynamic, but surely Frank in any universe inevitably develops an intense devotion for the "fellow called Blaize". Does older!David swoop in to rescue Frank from Hughes's clutches? Does younger!Frank repeatedly misbehave on purpose, so as to angle for punishment at David's hands?
  • "In spite of a nail" canon AU: Suppose David had bombed the Marchester scholarship/entrance examinations? How else could they have met & developed their very mutual attachment?

  • Would love to see jealous and possessive!David: David's always been so secure and unthreatened in his position as Frank's favourite-- so what does it look like if/when he actually has some competition, be it real or perceived (via the arrival of a wholesome new pretty boy? Or a tryst from the past?), for Saint Maddox's affections?

  • David thinking of Maddox as the Fairy Prince, and trying SO hard to impress him after inviting him for tea gave me serious cravings for a Fairytale AU
  • ...or an Arranged Marriage/Royalty AU!

  • My only modern AU prompt: Modern-day England cricket team AU where David's blindsided when his best mate in the squad publicly comes out of the closet.

  • Actually, cricketfic in general (be it canon setting or not) would be very welcome! Replete with sledging and innuendoes galore: Maddox praising David's soft hands and wrist action, tail-ender David getting personal lessons from his captain on the finer aspects of handling one's bat, David getting hotly annoyed at Maddox being Cruikshank's bunny, etc etc.
  • Regency AU (era-swap). Bonus points for at least one of them being a poet! (Bonus bonus points for Keats!)

  • Hogwarts fusion (setting-swap, but not era-swap).
  • I do enjoy A/B/O 'verse, especially ones with unconventional dynamics.
  • Pokemon fusion (...I just really want David to own a Blaziken, okay?)
  • Finally, if you're comfortable & open to writing Bags as well: Cyrano de Bergerac fusion with Cyrano!Bags, Christian!David, and Roxane!Maddox (and presumably Bags/David, Bags/Maddox, and endgame David/Maddox). I mean, hey, poor Bags does know how to forge David's handwriting!

恰好 | Just Right - 霍尊 | Huo Zun (Official Music Video: "正式版 | Formal" edition)

Here's the Youtube link and a link to the song's lyrics, with translation.

I requested this last year to no avail.

I still desperately want fix-it fic for the unrequited (...or is it?) m/m pining.

I'm so curious about the backstory and would love for you to fill in the blanks! How are they acquainted (strangers/colleagues/friends/in-laws/perceived rivals/lovers/something else)? Did the men previously have an affair before becoming estranged? Or was there a misunderstanding where the pianist initially thought the poet was pining for the woman? Is it infidelity or a poly situation? Whatever it is, it's promising that the music video ends with the two men about to meet in the middle of the winding staircase-- how does the reconciliation go?

(Note: Please do not race-swap/culture-swap the characters or the setting.)

The Mindy Project (TV)
Peter Prentice, Jeremy Reed

I liked their seasons 2 and 3 dynamic best, and would definitely prefer a fic set before Peter moved to Texas, so do feel free to ignore/disregard season 4 & later developments.

These two are so interesting, both individually and together (having gone from strangers to employer-employee, to friends and sober-buddies, to embittered rivals in a love triangle, to friends again).

Like, Jeremy's the reluctantly grownup one at the OB-GYN practice (having been forced into that role by everyone else's comparative irresponsibility), who yearns for his undeserved "suave charmer"/imitation Hugh Grant reputation of days gone past. And meanwhile, Peter's a seeming commitment-phobe (but not really; see: Becca, Lauren) with a perpetual fratboy mindset, who actually turns out to kinda be a secret romantic & huge family man. Throw in Peter's repressed bicuriosity & Jeremy's unresolved "I saw daddy kissing the rubbish man" issues, and they become super fascinating as a ship.

I would love shipfic for these two, especially of the ridiculous, tropey rom-com variety.

(Note: if you'd like to include background ships, my favourite of Mindy's love interests was Charlie the cop!)

Prompts:
  • My Fair Lady fusion/AU where Jeremy agrees to help transform Peter into “husband material” (or at the very least, “somebody passably dateable”)

  • Marriage of convenience: Peter and Jeremy commit immigration fraud to help Jeremy stay in the country

  • Fake dating (resulting in unintended and inconvenient feelings), for the benefit of Jeremy's father who (as we know) adores Peter

  • Accidental marriage/woke up married

  • Political AU where they're frenemies, and employed as staffers for rival candidates ("I'm seducing him for the good of our campaign!")

  • Identity porn ft. inadvertent catfishing

  • Peter's homoerotic "Best Man wedding dance" rehearsals...gone wild/sexual.

Hello!

Thank you for offering one of my fandoms. I'm super excited we matched and I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Some general info:
- I'm okay with receiving fic of any rating.
- Any POV/tense is fine.

Likes: canon divergence, role reversals, immersive settings, worldbuilding, slowburn, earned happy endings, arranged marriage/marriage of convenience, accidental baby acquisition, accidental mpreg, secret superpowers, mistaken identity, amnesia, time travel/time loops, enemies to lovers, forbidden fruit, manipulation backfiring with interesting results, people overcoming internalised prejudices, crack treated seriously, trope subversions and inversions, unusual formats of storytelling.

DNWs/Dislikes: non-con/dub-con, character death, terminal illness/deathfics, de-aging, issuefic, slavefic/slave roleplay, mundane AUs (unless otherwise specified).

Where there is potentially conflicting information between my general and fandom-specific preferences, please go with the latter.

Prompts are suggestions only; please do feel free to go with your own ideas!

Bath Tangle - Georgette Heyer

Serena Carlow/Fanny Carlow
(fanfiction)

So the canon endgame romance left me cold, and I came away from the novel shipping Serena with her younger ex-stepmother. Their mutual admiration, respect, and devotion for each other was incredibly sweet, and I really do love a good forbidden fruit ship!

I would strongly prefer a story taking place in the canon's historical setting (ie. no modern AUs). However, strict historical accuracy and realism isn't paramount so feel free to play fast and loose with that-- I'd definitely welcome magical realism and supernatural/gothic elements!

Prompts:
  • Marriage of convenience: Serena, as her father's sole heir, marries his young widow to keep the wealth in the family. [Obviously this one would require some handwaving...perhaps an alternate gender norms AU?]
  • Seemingly unrequited pining, feat. both Serena and Fanny being unduly critical (but gently so!) of each other's suitors, and wholly indifferent to their own. With a happy ending, please!
  • Sapphic explorations in the libraries of Bath...

(Note: No Ivo/Serena, please. I don't mind Hector, so feel free to feature him or employ him in a cover marriage etc.)

Coming Out On Top (Visual Novel)

Bradley "Brad" Melnick/Ian Manachevitz

(fanfiction)

These two have a lot in common! On the surface, both are the "no homo, bro" and the "here for a good time; didn't come here to play school" types. They're both sports enthusiasts. Plus, there's the whole Mark thing (ie. similar tastes in dudes).

What if things didn't work out with Mark for either of them? What if Brad had never met Mark in the first place? So many possibilities!

Prompts:
  • Post-canon: the two of them meet again years later (Mark ends up with someone else of your choice) and this time they really hit it off.
  • Ian totally only goes to every game because he's such a big football fan and school spirit is important. His dedication doesn't go unnoticed by the object of his affection.
  • Ian needs to raise money for his trip to the Amazon rainforest, so he's the one who accepts the tutoring gig with Brad instead. [Even if he's a C-average zoology student and already has a coffee shop job... Just go with it.]
  • After Zoe encourages Ian to explore his bicuriosity, Brad's the first guy Ian meets on the hookup/dating app that Ian's helping Penny beta-test.

Tortall - Tamora Pierce

Roger of Conté/Thom of Trebond
(fanart)

These two are super intriguing. Was their relationship really as unhealthy as it seemed? Who was the seducer/initiator? What if Roger had succeeded in his political agenda?

Scenes/themes I'd love to see art for:
  • physical hurt/comfort
  • tenderness in a moment of vulnerability
  • Roger adorning Thom with a magical item of jewellery (maybe a Focus?)
  • Thom crowning Roger the King of Tortall (think parallels to a dark! version of Arthur/Merlin), and/or Thom becoming Roger's consort
  • seduction in the library, up against a shelf of arcane texts

I adore: visual contasts, symbolism, attention to clothing and facial expressions.

Hello,

Thanks for writing for me! I'm super excited that you've matched to one of my fandoms. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

I'm rubiconjane on both AO3 and tumblr.

Some things to note:
  • Generally speaking, I am okay with reading any POV/tense combination. The one exception is for 7KPP fandom, where I would prefer no first-person POV (this preference will reiterated in the relevant fandom section, so don't worry about remembering it here).
  • Unless otherwise specified, I would prefer not to receive fusions/crossovers for this exchange.

My hard DNW is slavefic (eg. slavery as an institution, human trafficking) or slavery-related concepts (eg. indentured servitude, 24/7 lifestyle d/s). Please avoid at all costs.

Dislikes (please avoid unless otherwise prompted/specified): non-con/dubcon, character death, sexual kinks with bodily fluids (watersports/scat, bloodplay, emetophilia), issuefic, mundane AUs (eg. coffeeshop/high school AUs).

Likes: missing scenes, continuations, friendship to romance, enmity to friendship, angst with happy ending, banter/witty dialogue, worldbuilding, time travel, crack treated seriously, trope subversions and inversions, social media/multimedia elements and unusual formats of storytelling.

I'm open to receiving interactive fiction!

If you find there is potentially conflicting information between general and fandom-specific preferences, please defer to the latter.

The Martian (2015)
Mark Watney

I really enjoyed both the film and the book. Thematically, I loved how everybody was invested in the well-being of a single person, and how they all put aside personal and political differences to work together in the rescue effort.

I particularly appreciated Mark's resourcefulness, sheer will/determination, and irreverent sense of humour. My request is largely centred around him, but I do adore the entire supporting cast of characters (so feel free to give them a lot of screentime!)

Some ideas I'd love to read:

  • Reconnecting with the team on the trip home: Codependency— maybe they can't bear to let him out of their sight/embrace. Mark experiencing touch-starvation as a result of spending 600+ sols in isolation. Guilt, nightmares, angst, hurt/comfort. All of them eventually healing together (with optional healing cock! He was stranded alone on a deserted planet for nearly two years...)
  • Life on Earth again: How does he adjust to it? What does he do? I'd love for you to fill in the gap before the final timejump. Is he able to find love eventually and settle down? How would one even begin to navigate the dating game when everybody on the planet knows who you are? (What if he gets offered a Bachelor-type dating show? What if NASA blackmails/bribes him into taking it? What if?!)
  • Canon-divergence: What if the airlock hadn't breached/decompressed and destroyed his crop of potatoes? What if the initial space probe supply launch hadn't failed? How differently (or similarly) would events have unfolded if one single choice/decision someone made had differed?
  • Time loop: Edge of Tomorrow-style— whenever he dies, he respawns at a certain point in time (the re-starting point is up to you). How does he break out of the loop?
  • Aliens!: Not content to merely colonise the planet, Mark discovers sentient life on Mars. Perhaps Mark befriends them and they give him a ride (or "ride", feel free to have them do wonderful or terrible things to Mark) back to Earth.

Alternatively, I'd love to read fic for the Mark-related prompts about the world at large or worldbuilding:

  • The world's reactions to all the twists and turns of the Mark Watney saga. The real-time news/media coverage of the events. The pop culture references/tributes. The fanmail people wrote to him. The conspiracy theories! Unusual formats of storytelling (epistolary, multimedia etc) are very much encouraged here.
  • The Ares 5 mission! NASA obviously learns a number of lessons from Mark's harrowing adventure what practical (or otherwise) changes do they implement as a result, and how does it affect the next batch of astronauts? To what extent is the Chinese astronaut able to fit in with his American counterparts? Is there still a level of wariness/distance due to fears of scientific/corporate espionage?

恰好 | Just Right - 霍尊 | Huo Zun (Music Video)
(none)

(Here's the Youtube link and a link to the song's lyrics, with translation.)

Anyway, I'd love to read any of the following:

  • Fix-it fic for the unrequited pining
  • Poly: perhaps the misunderstanding wasn't altogether unwarranted, because the young poet had his eye on both the patron and his lady-love?
  • Prequel/backstory: how did poet and patron first meet?

Please do not race-swap/culture-swap the characters or the setting.

Seven Kingdoms: The Princess Problem (Visual Novel)
Princess Cordelia, Princess Anaele, Duke Lyon

(Link on the fandom promotion post)

7KPP is super fun. I like the core concept of negotiating political alliances, where difficult dilemmas abound and the attending delegates struggle to find a balance between duty and personal happiness. The idea of Marrying for Love is all well and good, but what of it when your country is on the precipice of ruin? What if you don't want to be married?

I'd love to receive fic about any of the following combinations (no love triangles or poly, please) within these three characters. Please don't write my requested characters into relationships with characters I did not request (including main player OCs).

Finally, no first-person POV, pleaseI would strongly prefer second- or third-person POV for this fandom.

Cordelia/Anaele

I find Cordelia fascinating. She's the non-conformist black sheep of Hise (a nation of pirates) because she's a prim, proper and elegant young lady. We're told that she's at the Summit in search of a better life.

How inconvenient (and interesting!) would it be if she fell for her antithesis, the warrior princess Anaele? After all, Anaele is brave, daring, and adventurousqualities Cordelia doesn't possess (and in her upbringing, would have been incessantly reminded about these personal deficiences).

Cordelia/Lyon:

Cordelia is very reserved and she uses etiquette as a shield to keep others at a distance. Duke Lyon is a brilliant academic, but describing his social skills as limited is a bit of an understatement.

Anyway, it's easy to envision both of them choosing the pragmatic route of an arranged marriage with each other (Cordelia desperately craves a change in her circumstances, while Lyon probably doesn't believe he would be able to successfully woo anyone). How would these two warm up to each other? I'd love to read about two people seemingly "settling for less" but eventually realising their unlikely compatibility and growing to really love each other.

Anaele & Lyon:

At first glance, Anaele and Lyon appear to be almost opposites. She hails from Skalt, a monarchy of proud warriors. He's from Jiyel, a nation of erudite scholars. It seems like they'd value very different skillsets and personality traits in people they befriend.

However, the two of them do have a lot of common ground. Both are direct in manner and have little patience for complicated social niceties. Their countries are extremely capable in warfare, albeit with very different approaches (Skalt's use of aggressive physical force to overwhelm versus Jiyel's highly philosophical and efficient military tactics/discipline). They're both a little conceited about their abilities (fighting prowess and intellect, respectively), and it'd be interesting to have them broaden each other's worldviews. I feel like they could learn a lot from each other.

So I'd love to read fic about an unlikely friendship between them. No shipfic, please (Word of God says Anaele is 100% into the ladies, so please stick to that characterisation).

The Royal Trap
Madeleine Valois, Cassidy of Gwellinor, Nazagi of Asineth

I'm not too fond of the VN's name but the storytelling is amazing. I have a lot of feelings about it (good ones!) and I don't even know where to begin. To paraphrase Mr Knightley if I liked this canon less, I might be able to talk about it more.

(And, well...I'm super reluctant to spoil certain major plot points for the uninitiated.)

Madeleine/Cassidy/Nazagi

"It's an uneasy balance between our three points. But sometimes, just for a moment, it comes into focus."

In "The Triangle" version of the epilogue, the three of them are somewhere between strangers and tentative friends when they get engaged to be married. They all enter into the arrangement for pragmatic reasons: Nazagi to marry into power, Cassidy complying out of duty as a result of her upbringing, and Madeleine for financial and political security. On the face of it, it sounds pretty cold and seems doomed to be an utterly joyless union. However, the upside of pragmatism is that there are no illusions to be shattered; they're going into it with eyes wide open, with differing motives but the same end objective. And thankfully, the ending hints that they manage to make it work, and that there is indeed potential and hope.

I really adore the Madeleine/Cassidy/Nazagi outcome a lot. I love that it is so unorthodox-- they're carving out their own little niche in the world, royal tradition be damned. And I do think the three of them have a good foundation to level up their relationship into a very fulfilling one. Their starting point is one of unconditional acceptance-- it isn't hard to believe that it will gradually lead to trust, respect, and deep affection. It certainly isn't hard to predict that happiness will be attained when all three people are committed to making it work.

I want all the poly triad fic for them:

  • Finding their footing during the engagement period
  • First times (they were all pretty inexperienced going into the engagement). Cassidy reading up on sexy tricks, Nazagi brewing up aphrodisiacs. Body worship-- Maddie lavishing her lovers.
  • Domesticity and married life
  • Ruling Gwellinor and being the ultimate power trio
  • Kids! And they're not going to make the mistakes of certain people before them.

Hey,

Thanks for writing for me! I'm rubiconjane on AO3 and tumblr.

Some general notes:
  • I'm okay with reading any POV/tense combination.
  • I adore canon divergences/alternate canon AUs. Fusions are welcome (eg. Hogwarts, daemon AUs) but I would generally prefer not to receive crossovers. I'm also not too fond of mundane AUs (in particular, generic coffeeshop or high school/college undergrad AUs).
  • No character deaths of requested characters, please.
  • Unless requested or otherwise specified, I would prefer no threesomes/moresomes for this exchange.
  • I'm cool with A/B/O-verse, knotting, and mpreg, and especially enjoy trope-subversive takes on them.
Other likes and dislikes are as follows...

Likes: missing scenes, continuations, friendship to romance, enmity to friendship, angst with happy ending, social media/multimedia elements, worldbuilding, time travel, crack treated seriously, trope subversions and inversions.

Dislikes: character/ship bashing, de-aging, whump, woobies, terminal illness/deathfics, issuefic

You might notice while reading through my letter that there are certain relationship dynamics I particularly adore and just can't get enough of:
  • older woman/younger man
  • intense or complicated sibling relationships
  • people who have to balance/walk a fine line between rivalry and friendship
So, I'd really love it if you could keep the dynamic for requested ships, as much as possible (eg. please don't ageswap the older woman/younger man dynamic to older man/younger woman).

However, the specific prompts (where provided) for each fandom are merely suggestions-- do feel free to go with your own plot bunnies instead!

---

Grey's Anatomy

I would love to read anything with either of these ships as a focus.

Alex Karev/Addison Montgomery

...
Karev:
The vanilla latte. I did it on purpose.
Addison: Why?
Karev: Because he was rude to you.
(S03E11, "Six Days: Part 1")
...

Many many seasons ago, we got one of the earlier glimpses at a softer side of Karev when he discovered a love for neonatal surgery when working under Addison. (#Tbt when Addison was viewed as LITERALLY SATAN and Karev was callous and thoroughly unlikeable.)

Anyway, those two misfits totally played house shared numerous lingering glances while keeping watch on infants during their late night shifts in NICU. (God, they had oodles of chemistry and so much tantalising potential. It was too bad the show only had them hook up once before parting ways due to incompatible romantic commitment levels.)

Jackson Avery/Cristina Yang

...
Jackson: Okay, Dr. Yang. Let me just tell you that [your surgical prowess] was incredibly hot in the OR yesterday. Very deeply hot.
(S06E08, "Invest in Love")
...

Ahhh, Jackson and Cristina. Two incredibly driven people who just want to be taken seriously as doctors.

I loved the competitive dynamic here, what with them battling for the same cases (and especially so because of that initial divide/rivalry between the Mercy West and Seattle Grace residents!) and from there, how they pushed each other to be better. (Unfortunately, nothing came out of their kiss because at that time they were both in complicated emotional situations with other people.)

They'd be so compatible together imo-- Yang wouldn't take bullshit from "Pretty Boy" Avery, while Jackson wouldn't be intimidated by her ambition.

---

Glee

Finn Hudson/Emma Pillsbury

...
Finn: We make a great team. We can figure this out together, Emma.
(S04E13, "Diva")
...

I was super disappointed that nothing came out of their kiss in 4x13. I would love a story (set after that point) that goes there and explores what a relationship between them would be like-- Finn's an adult who's since graduated from McKinley (and kinda works there by then), but he's still very, very young. So (for once!), Emma is not the inexperienced one in a relationship.

I imagine Emma would probably call off her wedding to Schue for that to happen. Unless you'd like to write a twisty and complicated extramarital affair?-- that's fine with me, too. Whatever and however you do, keep the prime focus on Finn/Emma, please.

Jane Hayward/Madison McCarthy

Once upon a time, there were these super close twin siblings. They did everything together and were each other's very best friend. One day, one twin starts dating and the other twin feels left behind. They fight about it, and eventually the second twin relents because she just wants her brother to be happy. Thus was the tale of Mason and Madison.

I'd love to read something about Madison aggressively dating spending time with Jane and genuinely (if warily) making an effort to get to know her brother's new girlfriend, and then falling for Jane herself in the process. I adore situations where one character is prepared to view someone as a rival, only to have their plans completely torpedoed upon actually getting to know said "rival".

Up to you whether you want to go with a poly triad or just a consensual arrangement where both twins date Jane. Either way, please focus primarily on the Madison/Jane side of the triangle.

---

Supergirl

Kara Danvers/Alex Danvers

I've only seen the first-look pilot, but I am already pretty intrigued by their relationship.

On Alex's part, I picked up slight anger and possibly resentment (?), but also extreme protectiveness and devotion to Kara. Like, she dropped everything just to help Kara pick out a date outfit! And Kara was able to manifest her dormant powers to save an entire plane (and exposing her identity to the whole world, in doing so) for Alex!

One of my loves is "uncomfortably close familial relationships that veer into forbidden territory" (see: Sam/Dean, Deb/Dexter). I'd love for you to explore their dynamic (however far you want to take that).

If you'd prefer not to write outright incest, some backstory on their childhood and upbringing would be very welcome -- did young!Alex initially reject her new adopted sister and view her as an interloper? Was Alex the "You're not good enough to date Kara" overprotective big sis in their late teen years?

---

People Like Us

Sam/Frankie

He viewed her as a mark, scoped her out, got to know her and love her. Fell in love.

The great tragedy of the situation is that Frankie would actually be perfect for Sam-- someone he could've settled down and spent the rest of his life with-- if she weren't his long-lost half-sister.

Seriously, the dude had some nerve. Flirting and bantering, going on dates (and they were dates, even if he didn't physically make a move), being a father figure to her son-- all under false pretences. But the way that knowledge weighed on Sam as soon as they started connecting (and having UST moments) was amazing. The truth didn't come out until poor (strong, funny, brave, selfless) Frankie got tired of his mixed messages and went after what she wanted-- him.

The film concluded with them repairing their friendship and sublimating their attraction to each other propagating the message that "we are family". Fuck that. Give me any of the following stories, instead:
  • in which Frankie doesn't forgive him so easily
  • they try to adjust to being merely siblings, and fail
  • a DNA test shows they aren't related after all
  • Sam developed amnesia and forgot they were related, and thus never told Frankie
  • canon-divergence: they met an entire year earlier, and only find out their relation when their father died.

---

Gossip Girl

Nate Archibald/Dan Humphrey

...
Dan: Don't think this means that I've been calling out your name in my sleep.
Nate: It's not like I've been writing Mrs. Nate Humphrey in my notebook.
(S04E09, "The Witches of Bushwick")
...

Is there nothing that can tear them asunder? This enduring bromance has survived class differences, the villainous machinations of Upper East Side society, AND that pesky circumstance of them having been involved with the same women (chiefly, Serena "love of both our lives" van der Woodsen; but also Blair and Vanessa).

In fact, the most notable threat/setback to this duo was probably when Dan omitted his pal as an individual character from his novel Inside -- causing Nate to be mortally offended until Dan grovelled his way back into his best buddy's good graces.

These two seem prime fodder for the "clueless, codependent bros who keep getting dumped by girls...so they console each other, thoroughly" scenario. (And I would love you forever if you wrote that!)

---

Sweet Valley High - Francine Pascal

Enid Rollins/Jessica Wakefield

Enid = dull, frumpy, goody-two-shoes bookworm.
Jessica = fickle, air-headed cheerleader who only cares about boys and shopping.

Or that's how each girl views the other. They both do make a lot of snide comments and are remarkably antagonistic to each other, for how little they actually interact/have any legit cause to have beef. So why the fixation, hmmm? ;)

Prompt ideas:
  • They team up to save Elizabeth, and theirs is an unholy partnership
  • They've secretly been hooking up for ages-- the public antagonism was just a front/camouflage!

The specific prompts, where provided, for each fandom are merely suggestions-- if you're not feeling inspired, feel free to go with your own plot bunnies.

Community (TV)
Abed Nadir, Annie Edison, Frankie Dart

Would love to read anything Abed/Annie or Frankie/Annie.

(Update: feel free to ignore/disregard the events in the S6 finale, writer! Alternatively, you are also very welcome to go the fix-it route. Whatever works for you...)

Abed/Annie

I really feel like Abed and Annie have become closer ever since Troy left, perhaps out of necessity. I love how supportive they are of each other. I adore the sweetness of their friendship, as well as those occasional moments of sexual tension and flustered!Annie whenever Abed is channeling a suave/badass pop culture character.

A story focusing on their relationship, be it romantic or platonic, would be super appreciated! What if Abed (posing as Brent Underjaw, aka the "Olympic pole-vaulting hopeful") catfishing Annie on Facebook had gone differently?

Frankie/Annie

Words cannot describe how much I enjoyed 6x03. Hope points! Binder flowers! Frankie comforting Annie! Their mutual appreciation of each other's competence was so freaking endearing, and I already ship them pretty hard.

What if they had ended up getting a boardroom? What if Annie's low-key girl crush on Frankie develops into a full-blown crush? Is there an alternate universe where they're ambitious executives who wage war/woo each other via memos and peer evaluations? (The answer is yes.)

The Social Network (2010)
Eduardo Saverin, Sean Parker

I know this one's a bit out there, but I would really love to read some enemies-to-friends (or even enemies-to-lovers) fic for these two. I'm picturing a gradual and grudging shift from emnity to ~acquaintances. Or maybe they're very, very reluctant allies working together against a common enemy/for a common goal.

Alternatively, hatesex PWP is very welcome, too!

Note: I do enjoy Mark/Wardo and Mark as a character, so feel free to include him in the story-- but I'm not invested in reading about him as a main character for this exchange. No character bashing, please.

Tortall - Tamora Pierce
Kaddar Illiniat

Kaddar became Emperor of the Carthaki empire in extremely turbulent circumstances (having went from nearly being accused of treason by his uncle, to succeeding to the imperial throne when said uncle went on a mad power binge and became immortal).

I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for a teenage ruler to maintain power/avoid usurpation while trying to restore order and peace in Carthak. There was so much to deal with-- collectively, it seems insurmountable: rural droughts, the large-scale destruction of the palace and the capitol, the political implications of freeing only certain slaves (like, how does that not lead to rebellion/uprising???), and having to reinstitute the worship of the Old Gods and stay on the Graveyard Hag's good side.

This is primarily a request for Kaddar-centric gen re: the above, but I would also be very happy with shipfic for Kaddar/Daine (perhaps Numair's jealousy in Emperor Mage hadn't been completely unwarranted, after all?), or Kaddar/Kalasin (how do they navigate making their arranged marriage a success?)

No AUs (apart from canon divergences/alternate canon AUs) for this request, please-- I would strongly prefer a story taking place in the canon setting.
