Day 27 – Fic: Team Place: The Nag's Head

Team: Place

Title: The Nag's Head

Rating: Teen

Warnings: None

Genres: First Wizarding War, Mostly Canon Compliant

Word Count: 8200

Notes: If the formatting doesn't come up write, let me know and I'll redo it. I type everything in docs, so it's fairly easy to go back through it. It's just reeeeaaally late.

Day 25 - Fic: Team Place: I Should Tell You

Team: Place

Title: I Should Tell You

Rating: Teen

Warnings: None

Word Count: 2600

Summary: Because of a pureblood relative visiting, Sirius can’t stay at James’s for the full summer. Or, well, he could, but it would end in disaster. So Sirius stays with Remus. But: Remus is going to Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival. Sirius ends up accompanying him.

Notes: Young Americans is a song by David Bowie. Waverley Station in Edinburgh is the only train station in the world named after a book. The musical the boys see is RENT! for which there are some spoilers in here. If you don’t know it, have a listen, because it is perfection. The song at the end is called Take Me Or Leave Me, and it’s also from RENT! Brownie points for those of you who know why I picked the Elephant House.

Prompt: #60 - "Who am I? I’m just a writer. I write things down.

I walk through your dreams and invent the future. Sure,

I sink the boat of love, but that comes later. And yes, I swallow

glass, but that comes later.

And the part where I push you

flush against the wall and every part of your body rubs against the bricks,

shut up

I’m getting to it."

- Richard Siken, Litany in Which Certain Things Are Crossed Out

Day 24 - Fic: Team Place: Dark Web

Team: Place

Title: Dark Web

Rating: NC-17

Warnings: Sexual slavery, on-screen rape

Word Count: 6700

Summary: When Sirius hears rumors about wolf-men hybrids running a porn site, he is eager to check it out. He did not expect to be drawn into a sexual slavery bust. And he definitely did not plan to fall in love.

Notes: Thank you to Brighty for beta reading this and to the mods for being lenient with me more than once, and of course for running this!

Prompt: #43 - "When I was fifteen, all I wanted was to go off to some other world, a place beyond anybody’s reach. A place beyond the flow of time.”

- But there’s no place like that in this world.

- Exactly. Which is why I’m living here, in this world where things are continually damaged, where the heart is fickle, where time flows past without a break."

- Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the Shore

Notes: This was only supposed to be 2k words, aha...Anyway, a thousand thank yous to T, M, and K, without whom I (and Remus) would be lost, and a MILLION thank yous to the Mods, for being so patient, encouraging, and understanding. Y'all the real MVPs.

Day 21 – Fic: Team Place: The Bells

Team: Place

Title: The Bells

Rating: R

Warnings: sex, violence, some body horror, zombies, lots of death (but it's hopeful)

Genres: angst, horror/adventure, magic AU

Word Count: 23,000

Summary: Upstate New York, after the fall. "Some of the ways death had come to work were obvious, and they were new and necessitated negotiation, but other ways were invisible, or at least invisible unless you cared to look very closely, and thus perhaps they had been as such forever."

Notes: Necromancers’ bells and the treatment of death in this story are borrowed from Garth Nix’s Old Kingdom series, and much of the plot is borrowed from Meat Loaf’s “Bat Out of Hell.” The rest is inspired by the ineluctable presence feeling of the Adirondacks and the New York north country. Thank you Beyond to E for all your support, your encouragement, and your beta read.

Prompt: #21 - Picture of a darkened landscape with lightning striking in the distance.
