A letter I wrote to the Albany Times Union was published in today's paper. You can see it here if you're interested. It is regarding the proposal to build Dr. Jackson a new house, financed by the board of trustees' private donations. Unfortunately, the letter itself was heavily edited for publication. Therefore, the letter I wrote (in its entirety) is ( behind this cutCollapse )
Professor Nauman was one of the few who really stood up for student's rights. I had the pleasure of working beside him against President Jackson during the year he organized the vote of no confidence. Two votes away I tell ya, two votes.
Here's to you Professor Nauman, have a drink with the big guy for me!

Looking for a furnished palce for the summer? Have plans that fell through? I have a furnished room for Rent in my home right behind the plum blossom restaurant on Derrick Avenue. I have off street parking and a yard. There is also a basement if you need to store some things. Room is approximately 15 x15 and opens out into a room with a fireplace and TV. Dinning room is adjacent to that and is barely used. Ends up being a very large spae to stage various things on. You would have your own bathroom and we would share the kitchen. All roms are wired for cable and internet and I also have wireless and a server rack in the basement. I have a washer and dryer which are free to use. Rent covers all expenses(Internet, basic cable, gas, electric, garbage, etc). Only room mate is myself and my girlfriend. Asking $600 a month, price is negotiable.
President Barack Obama announced this morning that Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute president Shirley Ann Jackson will serve on his Council of Advisors in Science and Technology.
Obama made the announcement this morning as he addressed the National Academies of Science in Washington.
This will not be Jackson's first time working with a president. President Bill Clinton appointed her to serve as chairwoman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission from 1995 to 1999.
