Hi, I sent pm

IMPORTANT SITE ANNOUNCEMENT

i did the same thing craze did but instead of just cleaning up i just asked chat yipitee to add big breasts to every harold instance now my rtp is original and good because it looks like the chrono trigger remake sprites, but with big breasts

Prevent generative A.I. from stealing your art !

of course, if possible do consider buying a retail copy eventually to support the devs cuz they're pretty cool persons and aseprite is pretty dope

Prevent generative A.I. from stealing your art !

I read somewhere there's several tools now that "corrupt" your files so they are useless to AI scrappers but idk if they're still effective

A.I. Generation and RMN

I've said this before but now with he benefit of a couple of years since then, personally I am glad this site has a hard stance of NO when it comes to AI and am completely comfortable with the idea of AI-enthusiasts going away to other places that are not here.

Call me names but if someone does not have the time to bring all their ideas to fruition without the use/assistance/support/adjacent, innocent, innocuous tiny little bit of use of AI, then maybe it's good that those ideas are not brought to fruition here and that they are gently directed to post elsewhere if that is ever the only way it can be realized as a whole.

I personally believe the ease of access to technology and the internet to the general population at large made the entirety of human society infinitely worse, and the inclusion of AI as this ultra convenient magical tool just-don't-think-about-the-human-cost that can make your dreams come true as is the often touted message to the average person is only amplifying the exposure of that Mass Mediocrity to the point that SLOP is a word now more utilized to refer to latest "progressive creative endeavors" than it's original intended use to refer to liquid spillage or low grade PIG FEED.

Many kids are taught either by parents or at school or by life that we don't always get what we want and we should come to terms with that. There is more to this life lesson than focusing on personal stakes. I find that a lot of pro-AI arguments in indie dev spaces tend to be ultimately selfish in nature. Sure, they paint a landscape of a future rife with communal enjoyment but at the end it always includes a form of "because it is convenient for ME".

I am very happy to own a tag of anti-progressiveness, anti-future, anti-whatever terminology can be abused to paint in negative colors what should be the factual natural default human reaction to and about this issue. I personally care not how "inevitable" the implementation of garbage like this in our daily creative endeavors is day after day. The sun setting is inevitable, coming to the end of our lives is inevitable, the continual degradation of cognitive functions due to the passiveness AI provokes in the average layman's brain is inevitable. I'll continue to disagree on this fuckawful application of artificial intelligence on principle alone because I enjoy what truly artistic people have to employ as far as personal growth and effort in their craft do, no matter how the perceived quality is.

To me the shaggiest imperfect hand drawn sprites will forever be superior to the ease, speed, accesibility and sterile hivemind-operated polish the robot assistant will produce if you allow it to take that shaggy sprite and process it.

I've seen a lot of arguments on how the "small usage" of chatgpt or grok as simple assistance to achieve minor tasks quicker is no different from using software tools like say JuiceFX to generate a swaying animation based on a tree sprite, and these kinds of arguments always feel disingenuous on the basis that in one you are clearly RP'ing with your air-headed robot intern as if playing a text adventure game, giving it your tree sprite and trying to write your instructions as well as possible so you don't need to spend a couple gallons more water correcting it because instead of producing a tree swaying animation in a set of 5 sprites that loop it gave you five different trees holding neon signs while going through a hot wheels loop-de-loop and you also forgot to specify to keep the same style in pixel art there goes another generation and more processing power and water and also you forgot to specify you need the swaying animation to make the tree lean to the left by strong wind but in a 2D plane and there goes more corrections and more processing power and Nvidia stopped making graphics cards for gaming because it has shifted production 100% for AI centers, seriously impacting development on all gaming circles. Oh, but what woes doth the path to Master Prompter unleash upon us all.

Meanwhile the other option has an interface that looks like this.

The software itself uses so little processing power that a low end laptop won't even start the fan during constant use. You can fiddle with the end result all day. Oh, but it looks so hard and complicated, with so many levers and pulleys and buttons and options. It looks like it might require time. And effort. And thinking. In niche communities like this I'd rather they ask what the levers and buttons do and I'll gladly teach a man to fish than have them ask their robot intern to stuff their mouth full of trout.
