Birthday greetings to...
I think therefore...
Happy birthday to Liam/other news
Happy birthday to lproven hope you had a great birthday today. Perhaps I will see you at the next ZZ9 pub meet.
In other news, I'm working tomorrow. There is a gig I wanted to attend after work, a band called Never Mind The Bongos (a
great name). They recently were interviewed on local radio station Croydon Radio http://www.croydonradio.com on James
Tighe's show just over a week ago.
I won't be broadcasting my radio show this Saturday (the CR one I mean) as I'm attending a event in London. I will be back on Croydon Radio on Saturday 17th November, 2012 (6-8pm). We have a new system of recording our radio shows, haven't had a chance to see it yet, but from what I've been told, it's a lot easier than the past method.
Haven't walked as much as I would have liked. I was thinking of going on one of the walks organised by www.croydontours.com (I noticed they do one on tv show "Peep Show" as Croydon was featured quite heavily on the comedy tv show).
Looking back to my growing up in the 1960's/1970's, it's funny to think that it didn't occur to me that I could become a DJ, the first spark would have been hearing Harry Chapin's "W.O.L.D." in 1974. I like many other music fans used to compile tapes, which I would then never send off to any radio stations, I just didn't have the nerve to send any because I hated hearing my voice back on a tinny cassette recorder. Although I was always pleased with my own music choices, and when I managed to join up two songs without a break, that was a fantastic feeling.
The longest walk I've been on recently is at Kenley Airfield. I go with mum to walk Ruby. We sometimes take my sister's dog Indie too. It's good for them, and good for me, I need more exercise ;-). It takes about 40 minutes to walk around the whole of the airfield. It does feel very good when I've completed it.
Enjoyed the recent Comic Strip "Five Go To Rehab" (to celebrate the Comic Strip's 30th anniversary), it felt more like a documentary than a comedy, but I liked that idea. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtw… (you tube link to the 30 second promotion for the show).

Croydon Radio (tryout successful) :-)
I enjoyed my tryout at Croydon Radio.
And was told earlier that week that they'd like me back.
So, don't know when I will be back there, but I hope it's soon.
www.croydonradio.com
http://croydonradio.com/
On my 20 minute "tryout" I featured some bands/artists from Croydon: The Damned,
Captain Sensible
and Kirsty MacColl (and another one with her dad, Ewan MacColl).
Plus managed some non-Croydon artists ;-)
David Bowie, Johnny & The Hurricanes.
