Lessons learned from my first real job/and somethings they never taught me in BSW training:

-communication is key,
-communication is key
-oh yeah communication is key
-people in positions of authority can be stupid and non comunitivive
-expect the unexpected and then some
-its hard sometimes to look for the good in situations and it requires you to work harder, think longer, and try harder
-to every end there is a start
-there is a silver lining to everything, sometimes though it is burred under layers of crap
-"its shit on top of shit, on top of shit"- Kim S. (thanks!)
-things change, often moment to moment without your control, or knowledge of it
-parents send there kids with tied shoes who don't know how to tie there shoes, and for that matter how to dress themselves in what they are clothed in
-eating lunch can be a battle
-there is good in everything, everyone and every situation. In the heat of the moment it can be impossible to see but the unexpected leads to unexpected things
-being part of a team of people makes work much easier
-being part of a team that works super well together, and just 'gets it' makes work fun and exciting even when the shit hits the fan
-bring the van every day
-have someone spot you
-everyone is entitled to a bad day, week, or a few hours

-remember a smile and a kind word are worth a lot

-be kind, for everyone you know is fighting some kind of battle

-some times things suck, and you have to make hard decisions

-life is a hell of a ride, so you best have some type of preparation for it!

-“Do all the good that you can, to all the people you can, for as long as you can!”

-never forget that its not about you, but those that you serve. And maybe when you look for it you can get something back.

Saving money as a college student? What?

Did you know that the average student will spend over $500 per term buying textbooks? Seems like an awful lot of money to buy textbooks that often get opened one time, right? Well, with Chegg.com, you will save hundreds!
So stop wasting your money and start renting from Chegg.com. I’m on the bandwagon and I’ve saved enough to buy all my term papers! Not really, but I have saved some serious cash by Chegging my books. I have a promo code that will save you an additional 5% off your total order, useCC109337.
Want proof?
Essential Biology by Campbell, Reece & Simon is $83.18 if you buy it on Amazon.com. If you rent it on Chegg.com, it’s only $11.78. That’s a savings of over $71!
It’s so simple, just search for the books you need and place your order. Chegg will ship them to you fast and at the end of the term you ship them back for free. What’s really cool is that they plant a tree for every book that you rent.
Don’t forget to visit Chegg.com and use promo code CC109337.

So I got recommended for ordained ministry on sunday. I am working 20 hours a week at my internship and I started a business. Basically I think that brings it up to speed.

Writer's Block: Most inspiring teacher

Who is the most inspiring teacher you ever had and why? How often do you think about what they taught you? How has it changed your life?
Mrs. L 4/5 grade. She never let me not do. Her students don't often get to go to college but I am the rare exception that did. I will graduate with my BSW this June. I wonder if she knows the impact she made.
