Survival is his only goal. And, frankly, that’s turning out to be a lot harder than it should be.

But as Lloyd grows, so does his curiosity. Suddenly, just living a normal life isn’t enough, and Lloyd isn’t going to back down until he gets the answers he craves.

Summary: Nya hates failure. Failure means you aren’t good enough. It means someone trusted you, and you let them down. She’s failed before, and every time, she hates it.
But none of her previous mess-ups have hurt as bad as this. Letting Lloyd investigate the museum on his own was the worst mistake of her life. Now, she wants nothing more than to just see him again.

As Morro is trapped in the clutches of the Preeminent, being pulled towards a watery fate, his old Sensei offers a hand.
Morro takes it.

Summary: Lloyd’s no stranger to mistakes. He’s made plenty, and he’s not proud of it.
But when you’ve made so many, it’s hard not to feel guilty when others make the same ones. You feel like you have an obligation to stop them, to warn them.
Lloyd wants to stop Jay from falling down the same hole he did. But unfortunately, stubbornness and sacrificial instincts run in their family.

Summary: There are some things that everyone knows for certain. Like how the sky is blue, or how thunder always follows lightning.
Zane is a nindroid. Perfectly programmed to assess any situation at a moment’s glance, he knows he can never miscalculate the odds for any particular outcome.
And he knows this is something he has to do.

Summary: Some mistakes are hard to let go of.
After ruling with an icy grip over the Never Realm for decades, Zane wonders if it’s truly possible to see things like they were before. He’s told he’s the same person, but what does that matter if he doesn’t actually feel like that?
He’s not the only one who feels like they can’t live up to everyone’s expectations.

Summary: When you’re in a secret ninja force and are your city’s primary protectors, pulling your weight is important.
Jay tries to be an asset to his team, but it’s difficult when he’s viewed as the scaredy-cat who cracks lame jokes. He loves his friends with all his heart, but sometimes it’s hard to know if they return those feelings.
Jay wouldn’t blame them if they didn’t.
The Case of the Forgotten Birthday Gift

Summary: When the ninja are invited to the Ivory City of Shintaro for Princess Vania’s birthday, they find themselves in the most devastating predicament of all- they forgot to bring a birthday gift for Vania. In a panic, Cole offers her a chance to interview them as compensation. Not everyone is thrilled about the idea.

Summary: Scott doesn’t have friends. Friends demand resources and attention- things he doesn’t have to spare. Most importantly, they make mistakes. Scott can’t make mistakes. Even a small one could destroy everything he’s ever worked for.
But when Jay, quite literally, comes crashing into his life, Scott’s left wondering why he suddenly wants to sacrifice so much for some kid he just met.

Summary: Cole would do anything to not let his team down.
So, when he accidentally loses their only way out of the Never Realm, he knows he must make the trek to the Traveller’s Tree- no matter how dangerous the journey.
Sometimes he wonders if it will ever be enough, though. If everything he endures will be enough to keep him valuable- or if he is just doomed to be forgotten forever.
Spirit of the Deep
(Movie!verse AU in which Lloyd the ninja are stupid and end up meeting Morro)
Summary: With Garmadon defeated for good, the ninja are eager to find another way to busy themselves. When Kai finds out about an ancient temple rumored to hold some sort of treasure, the others are immediately in.
Not all adventures are good, though. Before the ninja know it, they are in over their heads with a discovery they will never forget.

Summary: When Kai’s sister, his whole world, is kidnapped, suddenly nothing else matters but getting her back. He’s prepared to sacrifice anything, but the path to reuniting with Nya isn’t a simple one.
For as long as Kai’s known, it’s been him and her, against the world. But the world has a way of changing. Sometimes, old relationships die.
And new ones begin.

(Lloyd lands himself a premium trip to the hospital. Kai is, understandably, not very happy with him.)
Summary: Kai would do anything to protect his family. Especially his best friend, Lloyd. They’ve always been tight, and he just wants to keep him safe.
Unfortunately, it’s not a one-way street, and protective instincts run in the family. When Lloyd’s reckless, protective nature goes too far and lands him a trip to the hospital, Kai is terrified.
He never meant for it to be like this.
Bloodlines
(Movie!verse Morro get stuck babysitting his little cousin Lloyd)
Summary: When Morro is roped into babysitting his bratty little cousin, he reluctantly accepts at the promise of a payment. All he has to do is make sure the kid doesn’t burn the house down or anything for a few hours, then get paid and leave.
But, of course, it’s not that simple, and Morro ends up getting more than he bargained for.

(Nya gets sick and tries to hide it. Pre-pilots.)
Summary: Growing up in their humble weapons shop, Nya’s used to not having much. But she has Kai. As long as the two of them are together, things will be alright.
That’s not to say that she doesn’t wish they had more, sometimes. It would be nice not to worry about their next meal, or how they would pay rent.
And, if they could afford medicine, maybe illness wouldn’t be so scary.

Summary: For as long as Kai can remember, Nya’s been there. When everyone else gave up on him, she was there. She was his second half, his rock, his whole livelihood.
How do you possibly go on without that? How can something you’ve known and relied on your whole life just… leave?

(Kai nearly drowns in the Temple of Airjitzu)
Summary: Kai hates ghosts.
They stole his little brother from him. They’re haunting this cursed temple. And they want to ruin his life as much as they possibly can.
The only thing Kai hates more than ghosts is water.
He just wants to get out of this place before he sees either of those things again.

Summary: Now that Lloyd is the official leader of the ninja team, he should be able to handle himself. So when the others go off across Ninjago to continue their search for Master Wu, Lloyd can cover the city on his own. It’s only for a little while. He’s going to be fine.
He can take care of himself.
wish i may, wish i might, fix our past and make things right
(Cole finds Jay aboard the Misfortune's Keep with some severe injuries)
Summary: Cole knows the way he treated Jay for lying about Nadakhan wasn’t right. Jay knows he shouldn’t have lied. Both would do anything to go back in time to fix that one little mistake.
But life doesn’t work that way. Sometimes, things can be fixed. Sometimes, they can’t.
Cole’s going to do everything it takes to make sure his mistake didn’t cost him everything he loves.

(Lloyd is mentally and physically drained after finally defeating Morro)
Summary: The Preeminent is dead. Ninjago is safe. The battle is finally over, Morro will never be able to hurt Lloyd again.
And Lloyd is more tired than he’s ever been in his life.

Summary: It’s really all Lloyd’s fault that he’s in this situation. He was the one who trusted Harumi blindly, who let his feelings get in the way of his duties as a ninja. Really, he shouldn’t be surprised that following his heart led him to be trapped in a collapsing cave with water flooding in at an alarming rate.
But that doesn’t make it any easier.
