This is a shortened version of Gustavo Santaolalla's "the Wings", which is the Brokeback Mountian theme. I loved this movie and just had ot pay homage to it. This version is similar to the one in the movie trailer. I'm playing it fingerstyle on my American Fat Strat. Bon Apetite!

We are done with you! (for now)

No falling leaves, no fall chill, We went swimming at our heated pool and sat under the stars in the hot tub.

Yay! Southern Florida, wet and humid and sunny and green. With paid gardeners running around eachweek beating back the greenery.

This winter will be so great. C'mon hurricane season, hurry up and go away. Slide past us without us having a
really different fall clean up.

I thought Florida was sunny. Hah! We've had more delicious rain storms in the short time we've been here than all spring back home. It wrinkles up and rains every effing day. Warm, drenching, gully washing rain.

I think I like it. When we lived in Santa Barbara, CA, there was a drought and it rained only a few times and then only at night. No puddles, no mud, no moisture.

In Missouri, there was 4 seasons, some on the same day.

but this... It's moist, sticky, primordial feeling. Damp, earthy.

I think I'm in love. It's sunny every day, and then it rains. cools off and mellows out to gray.

Brilliant blues and then more downpours. I have an excuse to sit inside and snooze. j

they had dropped the canal waters for Ernesto. they filled back up again. I think the water table is right there.

Spongie limestone filled aquifers. We're one big penisula of draining water, held up out of the ocean by man made efforts and soft leaky rock.

Tropical depression number 6 is off the shore, a week away. Do we take the extra time over Labor day weekend to stock up and finish hurricane protection. Nope. We go sportfishing and watch a DVD.

We're grasshoppers, not ants. Our windows are Cat 2 strong.

My son caught a Bonito which is not good food value, being bloody and oily, like mackerel, (I guess) We left it there to be cut up for bait.

My husband caught nada, though he had quite a few strikes.


and a tourist from Michigan caught a 220 lb shark. They tied the tourist to the pole and he brought the shark in. We had to clear the decks and go above while they grappled it aboard with giant gaffes. One just snapped right off.

Ew it was blood everywhere on the boat by the time we were done, and some of the men were whooping at every strike.

After the shark catch, they lit up cigars. Big male macho, I'm a pirate ARRR..


Disgusting for me, but the ocean ride was pretty. The houses on the intercoastal highway were amazing, I saw Tiger Woods house and Shaq's house. Huge mo-f'er of a house. Tiger's had a cigarette boat parked in front with Tiger on the side.

I'm not a sport fisherman, but I'm a good sport. :-D

Click to select the option "Local Printer Attached to this computer" 6. Make sure Uncheck the option(Remove check mark) "Automatically detect and install my plug and play printer" 7. Click Next. 8. On the Port window select USB001, click Next.

Ernesto fizzled out, but was kinda scary even as a fizzle.

Son had trouble standing up in the wind. He went out and tried to windsail with his skateboard.

Ah geez, my husband has to work at the hospital He's essential personnel, they lock down this afternoon, and we (son and I) chose to shelter at home and go through our first hurricane since coming to southern Florida, though we could go into the hospital overnight with the other families of people required to work.

Well... a little. But we're prepared as much as we could get done. I guess we'll get more stuff as we go through the seasons here, but it's a daunting task to collect and purchase supplies.

I don't know what people on small incomes do. (Yes, I do, I watched New Orleans)

but being here and watching the prep, it's amazing how much work it is.

They are draining the canals and lake in front of our apartment. It's down several feet now.

They've started the boat flotilla to get medium sized boats out in groups so that they can leave and the people using the drawbridge can leave efficiently. That intercoastal waterway thing is pretty cool.
