the thing about being in an abusive relationship at age 15 is that you have to learn a really hard lesson about how abuse victims are treated the second they aren’t actively in an abusive relationship anymore. i never told anyone i was abused until i figured it out and broke up with them. there were signs, i guess they weren’t obvious enough, but nobody really *knew* until i told them the story. and what i learned is that nobody really cares. you tell them the story and they assume that’s the end of it, that there’s nothing more you need. nevermind that i still went to the same school as them. nevermind that they were actively smearing me to anyone who would listen. nevermind that i was 15 years old and they were my first real boyfriend. my friends, my parents, even my own therapist, only cared on a superficial level. i didn’t know what i needed at the time. i didn’t know what to do other than to tell an adult what happened to me. but when the story was over so was the care. hell, my own father didn’t even recognize my abuser’s name when i brought it up later because they continued harassing me until after i moved halfway across the country. my own friends befriended this person behind my back. they couldnt even do me the courtesy of not bringing them to our lunch table.
nobody gives a single fuck about abuse victims if they Know they’ve been abused. they want to uphold this idea of a poor little victim who needs to be told that being beaten every night isn’t love. they have no idea what to offer in the face of a victim who knows exactly how terrible what happened to them was, who has been trying to get it to stop for years. im not even confident half of them even believed me.

I really wish more people would pick up on the terms transfeminized and transmasculinized.
Transfeminized = someone who has been treated as transfem (regardless of whether they are or not), particularly in an oppressive manner; people who suffer from transmisogyny, regardless of whether they consider themselves transfem.
A few examples:
-Transfems.
-Intersex or otherwise varsex people who are perceived as transfem (regardless of if they are or not.)
-Some gender non-conforming men.
-Non-transfem non-binary people (especially if they have been raised male), who are viewed as transfem due to people only ever sorting enben into "transfem" and "transmasc" categories.
-Black or brown pericis women who are accused of transfemininity due to eurocentric beauty standards masculinizing black/brown traits.
-East Asian men who are accused of transfemininity due to eurocentric beauty standards feminizing East Asian traits.
Transmasculinized = someone who has been treated as transmasc (regardless of whether they are or not), particularly in an oppressive manner; people who suffer from transandrophobia, regardless of whether they consider themselves transmasc.
Some examples:
-Transmascs.
-Intersex or otherwise varsex people who are perceived as transmasc (regardless of if they are or not.)
-Some gender non-conforming women.
-Non-transmasc non-binary people (especially if they have been raised female), who are viewed as transfem due to people only ever sorting enben into "transfem" and "transmasc" categories.

This is especially helpful as a replacement for TME/TMA, and the way the terms have been bastardized beyond recognition by TIRFs.

pericis black women (or, really, any woc) can and have experience(d) transmisogyny because of the way their features compared to eurocentric beauty standards are seen as masculine. this means tranvestigators think they're trans - often trans women.
the tme/tma binary doesn't take into account the multitude of intersex experiences. as an example, someone who may present more androgynously will experience transandromisia and transgynemisia.
also, the definition of transmisogyny is the overlap between misogyny and transmisia, so transmascs and trans men often do experience transmisogyny. and even if that wasn't the definition, non passing trans men often get mistaken as trans women and belitted for that by transmisics who "can always tell".
the tme/tma binary leaves no room for nonbinary umbrella people. it turns things into black and white, when for our nonbinary siblings it can be much different.
stop using the tme/tma binary. (transfeminized/transmasculinzed works much better if you need to. link here.)
