A kangaroo's paradise

Today I wandered across http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power…
"Powerbocking is the act of jumping and running with elastic-like spring-loaded stilts."
and thought kangaroo furries would be interested in powerbocking for jumping around.

(I worry that people's legs might be adversely effected if overused.)

I think powerbocking videos (example: at Youtube) give a better idea then the photos in the wikipedia article.

Australia has a really cute 2008 silver kangaroo coin coming out!

It's about $25 USD, and contains one oz of pure silver.



The silver one is cute, but the gold version is really stunning! (It's a LOT more $$$, though.) :(

I feel we need more Aussie hair products commercials!

They don't them enough on Daytime TV!

There was five commercials that I can recall that had the
animatronic Jenna Grape-look-a-like in them:

Customs Check: An airport stop makes for a brief confiscation of
the roo's shampoo... and almost results in a search of her pouch!

YIKES!!!

Yoga Class: An excercise class makes the roo drop
a bottle from her pouch... result? The instructor give the poor flyer
a literal shakedown!!!

Movie Theatre: Our roo relaxes a bit too much, dropping yet another
bottle of hair product, rolling to a girl in front of her, who immediately uses, and
blocking the roo's view, making her stand up. WHOOPS!!!

Police Line-up: A pickpocket is easily pointed out by our kangaroo...
... that must be a REALLY SLICK pickpocket to pilfer that roo's pouch!

Surf's Up! (RECENT): Our roo is seated on a surfboard when suddenly, it
capsizes! The lifguard swims out and instead of rescuing the roo (who managed to right herself
back up on her board), the lifeguard grabs up the hair products, leaving the roo to look down
in her now-empty pouch! After the lifeguard says, "Don't get dehydrated!", our purple roo has a
pissed off look on her face that seems to say, "Aw, dry up!"

Somehow... that purple roo seems to be in good company with Lucky the Leprauchan.

I was browsing JaxPad when I found this great drawing by Nevar of kangaroos playing the most oddly-shaped didgeridoos I've seen. I just had to share.

Everyone here probably already uses Google regularly, but just in case any of you have been under a rock for the last day or two, they have recently taken to doing a series of Christmas logo images which involve kangaroos getting ready for Christmas. What the connection between kangaroos and Christmas is is anyone's guess...
