Ok, I'm not bummed out by this, but, considering the post, that icon seemed fitting. :)

Speaking of movies, isn't it interesting how a song can become forever linked with a particular scene? I'm sure it depends on whether or not the song had much of a life outside of the movie. The one I have in mind (and have been listening to today) really didn't, as far as I know. Even so, I dare anyone to listen to this song and not think of that scene, and I'm guessing I won't have to specify what scene I'm talking about. :) (And, it's not the more recent scene that spoofs the original scene. Although, if you know one, you'd have to know the other. :p)

Can anyone think of any other songs that would qualify for this particular phenomenon?

Tell me I'm not the only one here old enough to remember that little opening cartoon, with dancing sodas and popcorn. If you can't tell me that, then don't say anything and I'll just pretend. :p

Those who know me will probably be thinking "Star Wars!" but no, I haven't actually seen any of the movies anywhere near 10 times. So, Trainspotting.

No. No food and no drink. If I wanna eat, I go to a restaurant. If I wanna see a movie, I go to a theatre.

Not often enough. Probably 5-6 times a year.

300.

Don't really have one.

The Empire Strikes Back.

21. What movie do you wish you had never seen?
House of 1000 Corpses. In fact, it's become my barometer for bad movies, as in - "Yes, it was bad, but was it House of 1000 Corpses bad?"

Elephant

23. What is the scariest movie you’ve seen?
The Fly (The Jeff Goldblum one.) It still scares me.

This is Spinal Tap.

- Watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire today. I liked it, but I think if I wanna truly enjoy these movies, I'll have to stop reading the novels. Bit late considering that the next one is the last in the series, but there was no chance of me not reading it anyway. I realize that the movies will not compare, that so much will have to be left out, but as they get further into the series, the movies just so much a pale comparison. If these were my books, I honestly don't think I'd be too happy with having them gutted. Of course, they're not mine, they're J.K. Rowling's and if she's happy with it, I guess that's what matters.
Speaking of Rowling, I've read several times that she's adamant about Ron & Hermione having romantic feelings for one another. I hope she doesn't expect it to translate too well to the big screen because, to me, Emma Watson & Rupert Grint have no chemistry. All the jealousy and teenage hormones that were supposed to be there just seemed completely forced. Oddly enough, I think Emma & Daniel Radcliffe work very well together, and Hermione's concern for Harry in the Tournament was much more heartfelt.

- Movies have been piling up at my house lately. I buy them, intending to watch them, and never do. So, I decided to watch one a week, at least. Tonight was High Tension. Generally, I'm not a fan of slasher movies, but the dvd cover(Cecile De France holding a hacksaw)caught my eye.
Maybe the fact that I'm not a horror buff is what allowed me to enjoy the film. Basically, the story is this - two friends & classmates, Marie and Alex, decide to spend a weekend at Alex's parents house, in the French countryside. In the middle of the night, an old truck pulls up, a strange man knocks on the front door and well, you can probably figure out what happens next. Or can you? See, there's an interesting plot twist to the movie that, if internet reviews are any indication, didn't go over for the hardcore horror fans. The general consensus is that anyone can see it coming a mile away. Well, I didn't. I was definitely surprised and more than a little confused. :) Incidentally, Alexandre Aja, who directed and co-wrote the screenplay here, has also directed the remake of The Hills Have Eyes. Oh, and just my opinion, but Cecile De France has screen charisma in spades.
