Hi, flist, your attention please.

I've decided I need to have a friends cut. I was just updating my latest fandoms on my profile and realised there are 65 ppl in my flist, and I swear some of them I've no idea who they are. I don't like this. I love my flisties, and don't want you all to disappear in a sea of unknown ppl.

So if you'll please raise your hand if you're here and watching? (and that of your sockpuppet/fan/writing lj?)

While we're at it, you can consider this an opportunity to yell at me for, well, anything really, but more specifically chances I should make in posting. Do I need filters? If so, which? Do I need to whine less? Do I need to make more of an effort in being fannish and/or otherwise entertaining you? Spill xD

If you've really been wanting to unfriend me because you decided you hate my guts or because we have nothing in common or just whatever, but thought I'd take it badly, here's your chance as well. Won't get mad, promise.

That was all. Pls to be raising hands now, thanks.

Edit: Temporarily unlocked in case I chucked some people who would have liked to stay. If so, I thought you were inactive! Say hi if you're not!

Try this!

Test about religious consistency

Here's how I did:

Wait....better take the test yourself before you read all of this, it'd spoil the test!

Battleground Analysis
Congratulations!
You have been awarded the TPM medal of distinction! This is our second highest award for outstanding service on the intellectual battleground.

The fact that you progressed through this activity without being hit and biting only one bullet suggests that your beliefs about God are internally consistent and well thought out.

A direct hit would have occurred had you answered in a way that implied a logical contradiction. The bitten bullet occurred because you responded in a way that required that you held a view that most people would have found strange, incredible or unpalatable. However, because you bit only one bullet and avoided direct hits completely you still qualify for our second highest award. A good achievement!

How did you do compared to other people?

124640 people have completed this activity to date.
You suffered zero direct hits and bit 1 bullet.
This compares with the average player of this activity to date who takes 1.37 hits and bites 1.10 bullets.
46.92% of the people who have completed this activity, like you, took very little damage and were awarded the TPM Medal of Distinction.
7.44% of the people who have completed this activity emerged unscathed with the TPM Medal of Honour.

Battleground God Questions

God exists.
If God does not exist then there is no basis for morality.
Any being which it is right to call God must be free to do anything.
Any being which it is right to call God must want there to be as little suffering in the word as is possible.
Any being which it is right to call God must have the power to do anything.
Evolutionary theory maybe false in some matters of detail, but it is essentially true.
It is justifiable to base one's beliefs about the external world on a firm, inner conviction, even in the absence of any external evidence for the truth of these convictions.
Any being that it is right to call God must know everything that there is to know.
Torturing innocent people is morally wrong.
If, despite years of trying, no strong evidence or argument has been presented to show that there is a Loch Ness monster, it is rational to believe that such a monster does not exist.
People who die of horrible, painful diseases need to die in such a way for some higher purpose.
If God exists she could make it so that everything now considered sinful becomes morally acceptable and everything that is now considered morally good becomes sinful.
It is foolish to believe in God without certain, irrevocable proof that God exists.
As long as there are no compelling arguments or evidence that show that God does not exist, atheism is a matter of faith, not rationality.
The serial rapist Peter Sutcliffe had a firm, inner conviction that God wanted him to rape and murder prostitutes. He was, therefore, justified in believing that he was carrying out God's will in undertaking these actions.
If God exists she could create square circles and make 1 + 1 = 72.
It is justifiable to believe in God if one has a firm, inner conviction that God exists, even if there is no external evidence that God exists.

Bitten Bullet 1

You answered "True" to questions 7, and 15.

These answers generated the following response:

You've just bitten a bullet! You are consistent in applying the principle that it is justifiable to base one's beliefs about the external world on a firm, inner conviction, regardless of the external evidence, or lack of it, for the truth or falsity this conviction. The problem is that it seems you have to accept that people might be justified in their belief that God could demand something terrible.

This is something many religious people are willing to accept. For example, Kierkegaard believed that it is precisely because Abraham had to contravene established morality to follow God's will and attempt to sacrifice his son which made his act the supreme act of faith.

But as Kierkegaard also stressed, this makes the act incomprehensible from a rational point of view. The rational alternative - that people should require more than such an inner conviction to justify such a belief - is more attractive to most people, but you reject this alternative and bite the bullet.

Food, quizzes and catrants

I'm bored. I know I should be cooking dinner for myself, but I don't feel like it because I'm too tired. I did admin at school work today, but I'm still tired. So now I'm doing some quizzes to pass the time till I'll get slightly hungry and can eat my bread with meatloaf.

I went to Eline's for lunch. She's got three cats, and one of them was on the couch. Gave it Reiki. Or rather, I was striking it just b/c it's an animal with hair and I happen to like them, and my hands got warm. Kitty liked. I asked her if it had been a drowsy lately, and it had. Don't really know why I asked. Just heared myself asking it, that's all. Let's call it intuition.
Bit later, "tiger" started miauw-ing whenever anyone came near, and was very jumpy. Eline accuses me now of making her cat scared. LOL!. Hope it turns out for the better.

She also has another cat, a 2 year old skinny thing. I dragged it up for some reiki when the other ran away, and informed Eline that the creature was having stomach problems. Could be right, she said. Kitty tends to eat loads of birds. :-P Also, later it got an astma attack, and almost immediately after I put my hands on its throat it stopped.

I don't know if it'd normal for astma to cease so quickly, but Eline seemed quite surprised, though she wouldn't admit it. And if she accused weird me and my weird reiki for making her cat scared, at least she seems to believe there's such a thing as reiki. Which is another step forward, lol. I don't like very much when ppl look at me as if I don't know what I'm doing, or as if I'm totally nuts, however I'm used to it. And since for some strange reason I'm beginning to actually like her (no one give her my LJ username!!) I'm glad she doesn't *entirely* disbelieve me. Weird actually. *thinking*

Edited to add: KITTY UPDATE! Eline is just telling me that her "tiger" has been very active the entire day and just finished ploughing their garden! He went from white to black, lol! HE may be happier now....but I'm not sure Eline's mom is right now:-P

MSN personality test :)

This test actually made some sense:s
