ive been physically hurt on the job a lot and sometimes its unavoidable esp bc i mainly work with ppl with dementia and one of the first couples i worked with ended up getting two full time live ins (thankfully bc they needed it) but the wife only reached out for help when her husband with dementia put her in the hospital, he would punch her constantly, i got punched by him more than a few times while giving care, and she didn’t want to reach out bc she felt shame bc of her vows and felt like it was her duty to take it, but hearing her say “___ would never hit me when he wasnt sick” rlly cemented in me that ppl r not meant to deal with this shit alone, srry to rant its just like T_T its so easy to say “just stay with them forever and take the burden of the disease!” when ur not the one getting a concussion for trying to brush ur lovers teeth bc they don’t recognize you anymore
Sometimes being part of a community means doing things that make you nervous
Like talking to the farmers market vendors and letting people wash your car
