but i have to ask
if you don't mind sharing

My favorite kind of patient is the one that can smile through the pain.
I got to do x-rays on a guy yesterday that was in a neck brace. His back was in a lot of pain from falling on his coccyx aka "tail bone" :P
Anyway, me and my other classmate were being kind of silly but not on purpose. We were making him laugh, so we kept up with the sillyness and made getting x-rayed a good experience even though he was in so much pain.
I love the ER rotation.
I was helping out in the ER one day when I was float rotation. I went to get this elderly woman for a 1 view chest xray. I asked her her name and checked her bracelet to make sure everything was kosher. I said "Ok insert patient's name here I'm taking you in to get your xray now."
Out of nowhere she said "You sound like someone from Ohio." (I live and go to school in NY, but I grew up and lived in Ohio for 20 years). That comment put a big "=D" on my face. That seriously made my day for some odd reason. This woman who didn't know anything about me picked up my accent. I never realized an Ohio accent was that recognizable, but to her it was. I get picked on so much for my "accent" from big mean New Yorkers :P
