Why should you join Rockstar Jr, you ask? I understand that there are already a lot of post-your-band's-music / lyrics / tour dates communities out there already. the problem with those is a complete lack of feedback and an indifference towards music that's not your own. that's how Rockstar Jr. intends to differ. heres what ya gotta know before you join.
don't bother joining if you don't want to listen -- you don't even have to be a musician to join this community. if you're just a music lover who takes pride in being the first among your friends to discover great new emerging acts, boy did you strike a goldmine with this community!
any band or musician posting their music must listen to and give feedback on at least three other people's music -- honour system policy thus far, but don't abuse it. if everyone just pimps 'n' runs, this community will be just as pointless as the rest of 'em.
try to give detailed feedback -- all this means is try to mention something specific about the song that stood out. this way the artist knows you actually listened, rather than just strung together a generic review to get your three feedbacks done. this is not manditory... just something to keep in mind. sometimes ya just gotta leave a dumbstruck "that was AWESOME", and that's okay!
criticism must be constructive -- obviously. people want to know what they're doing wrong and what could improve, but nobody gains anything from mean-spirited flaming.
appropriate content please -- some songs are bound to contain harsh language and mature / questionable content. it's cool, just be sure to put a warning in your post. songs promoting excessive hatred, cruelty, and bigotry will NOT be tolerated though. oh, and no plagerism or otherwise illegal material. the poster, not this community, are to be held legally responsible for the content of questionable posts.
cross-posting is fine -- the more exposure for your band, the better, right? if you want to post your song here and at some other community, all we ask is that you mention in your other posts that it has been cross-posted to this community. we are still very new and need to generate traffic.
tell your friends -- the more members, the more listeners, right?
