Alternative Craft Fair in Albion, NY -- June 8th and 9th!

Hey, guys! Looking for something awesome to do June 8th and 9th? We're having our first ever alternative craft fair during the Albion Strawberry Festival: the Pullman Memorial Alternative Craft Fair!

It's a vibrant, hip craft fair with a truly unique selection of alternative artists and indie crafters, showcasing the modern/kitschy/cool crafts synonymous with Etsy and the independent craft movement.

It's Friday, June 8th from 11 AM -- 9 PM and Saturday, June 9th, from 10 AM -- 8 PM

At Pullman Memorial Universalist Church || 10 East Park Street, Albion, Orleans County, NY 14411

Lots of awesome Rochester indie crafters are going to be there, and it'd be awesome to come out and support them--Albion isn't that far of a drive from Rochester, and it'd be a pretty one with all of those wildflowers, blue skies and general spring-almost-summerness going on. :) Hope to see you there!

Looking for volunteer art gallery for dark arts themed event

Hello. This is Amy O'Connor from TechNoir Events in Rochester, NY.

I want to try and organize an art gallery showing for all the local artists whose work revolves around "dark arts" and I am looking for a gallery that will volunteer to help us out and provide a venue for us.

We are interested in a gallery that features artists whose vision looks below the surface of everyday reality.

Examples include: Tattoo art, Gothic, Fantasy, Science Fiction, Surrealistic, Horror, Sinister, Sculpture, Digital or any other style.

This event is very much in the beginning stages.
I need to pick out a venue that could possibly provide us with the ability to serve beverages, food and supply music.

If you would like to participate, or help with finding a venue, please contact me at aroconnor1 [at] hotmail.com. Thanks!

Thanks everyone!

Fabic

Besides Joann's where in Rochester is there a store with a big selection of fabric? I seem to remember there was a place in Fairport but I can't remember the same to look it up.

Free/Cheap vet for adopted strays

I know that some vet clinics to physicals, shots and spay/neutering for cheap or free on strays who are brought in.

Does anyone know of any locally?

We have this amazing stray (that we're looking for a home for) who took up residence on our back deck. No one in the neighborhood is laying claim to her and while we're happy to let her on our porch, my hub is freakin' at the idea of another cat.
We want to make sure she's healthy before we offer her up but don't have the money to sink into another large vet bill (for us to keep her, she'd have to be declawed by declaration of the hub).

So...any vet clinic that does this?

I am not a fan of Lollipop Farm~ we had a horrible experience with them~ or of shelters that are over run, so if possible we'd like to rehome her ourselves.

Thanks so much!!!

Buckwheat pancakes?

Can anybody point me in the direction of a restaurant that serves buckwheat pancakes? They've gotta be purely buckwheat, not a flour/buckwheat blend, cause I'm gluten-free. I'd love to be able to go out to breakfast and actually order pancakes!
Google turned up Lorraine's on Culver, but they were closed today :(
Everything else I stumbled upon was a fair distance away.

Thanks in advance!
