So, I changed my mind. I will be opening up my fics to all readers. Honestly, it's just too easy for any underage person to get on here to read stuff, and I've been approached by people wanting to rec my stuff, but can't because of it being locked. So I'm unlocking it and hoping nothing will happen.
If you still want to friend me regardless, I promise I don't bite.
So much stuff going on. Been tentatively writing for other fandoms, which means I really ought to create a new master list for them on my side bar navigation. Then there's the fact that I finally managed to transfer to Michigan State University, where I am double majoring in Japanese and Linguistics and have a minor in TESOL. Then, I'm applying to study abroad to Japan again this upcoming summer. And I've also started trying to learn new languages on my own: Russian, German, and Chinese. If anyone here is a native speaker and would like to help me practice, drop me a line.
*dusts off journal* Well, it has been quite awhile, hasn't it? I'm not sure how many of you guys are even still interested in what I have to say, being that its been so long not only since I've written anything but even posted on here. But I feel I owe you guys an explanation.
First off, I spent this whole last summer abroad in Japan, teaching English to elementary and middle school students. It was a whirlwind of activity and excitement and I hardly had time to take a breath and before I knew it I was back home. Upon my return, I had to go back to dealing with the auto insurance, school, and real life.
As some of you guys know from my last post, I was in a very bad car accident last Christmas, and I'm still dealing with the repercussions. My right shoulder was badly injured and it was confirmed today I need to have a major shoulder operation, which will be taking place on Halloween. Due to the severity of the injury, cadaver tissue will be used to graft the joint back together, along with a metal plate to stabilize it. After approximately a year, the plate will be removed to prevent damage to the bone. So. Because of all this, I haven't had much of an online presence ANYWHERE, not just livejournal, but AO3, tumblr, facebook, etc. I'm much more concerned with RL at the moment and writing has really been put on the back burner. Hopefully that will change in the future.
Well, first off, tumblr took over my life last fall. So that's my excuse for that. Also, my classes last semester really sucked. They suck this semester too, but last semester was absolutely awful. I also have two part time jobs now, instead of just one.
Now, I have good news, and bad news. Bad news first, right? That's the way it goes, I think. ( Collapse )
So, I thought long and hard about whether or not I would make this post private. I finally decided not to, because I think its something that everyone needs to read about. I really wish I was more eloquent, but I'm not, so my rambling post is what you guys are going to get.
