Equitation Critique

I haven't seen any recent posts here, so I have provided you a video of me to go ahead and tear apart :) I'd definitely appreciate it if you tear it apart nicely, though

The horse is a gelding I lease, a 16 hand, 10 year old TB ex racehorse. I'm not sure what he did directly after the track, but before he came to live at his current home his previous owner tried unsusccessfully to use him as a western playday horse. I'm told he got way too excitable and it did not work out. So, he was purchased by the BO to turn into a hunter.

Mod Post

ridercritique needs a new moderator to take over.

It's a pretty quiet community, but if you're volunteering it would be better that you're someone who is on LJ rather frequently, just to keep an eye on things. You'll also be taking the place of the primary contact for the community.

Any volunteers? If someone comments and you agree that they'd make a good moderator, start a threat below their comment adding your support.

Help?

My story. I took up riding as an adult in july of 2008 (23) had to take 7 months off  riding in 2009 due to bad weather and broken ribs so I'm far behind learning.  My grandparents have a horse who is deformed and green and can only be ridden about 4 times a month before he goes lame so that doesnt help me. I found a trainer but due to her job  I can only get a lesson about 2 times a month but I am free to ride her horse whenever I want now to help me since I have trouble with my grandparents horse.  I would like Critique to point out what I'm doing wrong and how to help me if possible please :)  Here  are links to my lesson today and posting without stirrups in a bareback pad for whoever wishes to sit though and watch it lol.

Just found this very old video on my computer. I posted some pictures of me riding this pony at the same show about 6 months ago; I repeat from that post that I know I'm too big for her, I was giving her some experience for a young rider.

New here

Hello All! I found this community through of course the bad_riding one. I'll tell a lil about myself. I have been riding for nine years total- first western and then rode english for 3 years. I did mainly dressage and BN eventing. I took time off of riding, got fat, went to college, and then returned to riding this spring. I acquired a young OTTB named Cricket who had also taken time off work and is also lazy and outta shape. We have been working together for 2 months now trying to regain strength and flexibility and turn both our flab back to muscle! We are taking baby steps and competing in small local hunter shows mainly on the flat. I am currently taking lessons on my horse and may take a few lessons on my instructor's horse since her horse knows what the word "impulsion" means XD... and so I can focus more directly on my own position.
