Featured Plates: 1798-11 LMM
The pair of plates for the fourth issue of the Lady's Monthly Museum. Descriptions from page 397 of the magazine:
Plate I. — Represents a Lady in the most fashionable Military Dress presenting Colours.
Plate II. — Full Dress — Large Figure — THE FIG LEAF. The gown, wrapping over one side, cut in an angle, drawn up a little with white cord and tassels, so as to be equal with the opening on the other, and forming a point directly in front. — Head-dress-Bandeaus of Muslin crossing each other.
Small Figure — SPANISH ROBE — Fastened by a White Rose on one shoulder, and crossing both before and behind to the opposite side of the waist, there fastened with a cord and tassels, the opening being on the side; a broad puffing round the bosom, and passing under the robe, with sleeves to correspond. — Head-dress — Black Velvet, with Silver Bandeaus crossing, and Ostrich Feather.
