waiting
Today I repotted the rosemary (which still needs a larger pot), handed off the exuberant hostas, started the oregano and marigold seed, and culled the dead chive. This evening I got a few larger pots at a yard sale (yay, the rosemary can finally stretch out!). Hopefully I will have time to repot the rosemary again soon. Poor thing is horribly horribly potbound. I also hope to start or acquire basil soon.
Also I've started to try to curb the aloe vera outbreak by starting to harvest the leaves. Hopefully that doesn't just encourage it to grow more.

success!
On a whim, I walked into the Buffalo Exchange in Davis Square this afternoon, then called up a friend for a second opinion. I ended up not getting the semi-formal dress, but we discovered that a lot of my friend's clothes fit me surprisingly well. So now I get to delay future garment shopping more, yay! (And now I also know that the Buffalo Exchange has stuff I'd wear at very reasonable prices.)

Mall plans failed. Everything was either casual-spring or looked like it had escaped from a curtain factory. Attempted to assuage my grumpiness with grocery shopping at Harvest.

Need to go to the mall on Friday to dress shop for an upcoming wedding. Whee. Anyone else interested? Currently thinking Galleria/Macy's, ~7-9pm.

I checked the Boston Globe, and supposedly the guess is that this will be a quicker-than-expected fix, which means boil-water-order will be days not weeks. Armed with that information, I decided to tackle the batch of dirty cookware from yesterday morning.
I finished washing one batch and only managed to scald myself with boiling water once. I have since decided that washing with boiled water is overrated and have bleached my sink in preparation for using it as the bleach solution soak tank.
So now between the hot day, the steam from boiling several liters of water, and the bleach, my kitchen feels like it can't decide if it would like to be a swimming pool or a sauna and is trying to be both.
I'm bored of boiling water, but grateful that we still have running water. And the water doesn't even taste bad! much better than New Orleans or Barcelona city water!

housing for a friend
Hello LJ. A friend needs to find new housing in the next month (not a sublet). Anyone know of any room openings in the Porter-ish area?
