We have enjoyed dining at Windward Passage in Upper Arlington for years and have always had excellent service and good food, which makes tonight especially disappointing.

I ordered the soft shell crabs, which were heavily breaded and fried. Unfortunately they were extremely greasy and had very little actual crab meat inside. At $42 for two small crabs, the quality simply did not match the price.

What upset me most was the way the concern was handled. When I politely explained that the dish was disappointing and not worth the price, the manager’s response was dismissive and defensive rather than professional. Instead of addressing the issue, she walked away and told the waitress to give me a drink, which was not what I wanted.

I understand every restaurant can have an off night, but long-time customers should not feel brushed aside when they raise a legitimate concern.

First thing I want to state, is that I have gone there a couple of times with no problems (except for bringing rolls or asking if i want an appetizer to start off). But today, today I had the worst experience that I've ever had at a restaurant.

I sat down and about 5 min later (which you should never take that long to greet someone) she asked for my drink order and right then and there, I told her what I wanted to eat.

About 10 min. Go by and I wasn't even offered a roll while I wait for my order (which they typically bring out while you wait for your food). Then they sat a group of three men and within a couple of min. Of them sitting there, they got rolls. I had to ask ANOTHER SERVER if i could have one while i wait.

After 20 more min of waiting i was expecting for the server to at least come back and give me an update. It took me wanting to speak to a manager for her to finally come to the table AND when i spoke to the manager, she made me feel like it was my fault for bringing this inconvenience to her attention. They never asked me once if they could do something to better my experience, but instead, tried to justify the crappy service.

I ended up asking them to wrap up my food so i can take it to go and when i got home i was even more disappointed because the portions were smaller than usual.

Their food is decent, but the service is horrible. Would not recommend eating there.
