Welsh Blacks is top tier. Extremely good coffee, great atmosphere and very polite staff. The eggs, bacon and avo on sourdough is one of the best brekkies in Newcastle - great value for money too. (Believe it’s only served weekends). Highly recommend Welsh Blacks Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We had coffee and breakfast here this morning and left feeling pretty underwhelmed. I've had coffee and the odd bite to eat before and its always been fine but we had a friend with us today and shouted her to breakfast, One toastie dish arrived well before the others which happens so not too worried but when we finally got our avocado on rye dishes we found the avocado to be hard as a rock. the chef had to know this before they sent it out but they went ahead anyway, I really wish they had approached us and asked us to choose something else rather than send out an expensive and inedible dish. We wont be back.
