Good food you cant ignore! As you all know, trying to find a nice restaurant that ticks all the boxes can be a challenge. Me Wah meets this challenge head on. Right from the outset the professional service was on right on queue! The atmosphere is great for an intermit night for two. The meticulously artwork on the walls engenders a good meal in the waiting. The restaurant has had numerous awards, the menu is to say the least extensive including the desserts. For me it’s the wine list (Grange, Hill of Grace and some expensive Boudreaux’s) that compliments the food and redefines the status of a restaurant. The service was really great and its what you would expect to compliment great food. The food was really good. The soups were first class and the roast duck is as expected, flavoursome with crispy skin. All in all the best Asian cuisine I have had in quite a while. We had an incredible experience at Me Wah Restaurant in Launceston. Visiting from Brisbane and being well-travelled, it’s not often a place truly stands out, but this one absolutely did. Right from the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for something special. We were greeted at the entrance, warmly welcomed, and escorted to our table, a level of service that feels rare these days. The entire team was outstanding, with a special mention to Stanley, who was fantastic to deal with. Every staff member we encountered was professional, friendly, and genuinely attentive. The service was exceptional and had that traditional, refined touch; respectful, attentive, and delivered with genuine care. Throughout the evening, staff checked in at the right moments, ensured our water was always topped up, and made sure everything was exactly as it should be. In a time where this level of hospitality is hard to find, Me Wah absolutely delivers. It honestly felt like we’d stepped out of Australia and into a completely different dining culture. The team, dressed sharply in tuxedos, carried themselves with pride — not just in appearance, but in the way they delivered such a high standard of service and hospitality. And then the food… simply outstanding . As food lovers who have tried Asian cuisine across Australia, we can confidently say Me Wah sits right at the top. Each dish was beautifully presented, packed with flavour, and perfectly matched the fine dining experience they offer. Overall, this was far more than just dinner. It was a complete experience. Everything from service to atmosphere to food was executed perfectly. A solid 10 out of 10. Huge credit to the entire team! Truly something special.
