This place was one my sweetie and I chose last minute because we wanted fresh guacamole—it quickly became a distinct and memorable experience. We went pretty close to closing time which is typically a faux pas, especially as we are both experienced in the service industry. We were greeted by a lovely lady who told us to sit anywhere, and our server came up a few minutes later—his name is Rain (sp) Obviously there should be no expectation in service beyond basic kindness and courtesy between clients and staff, but we felt deeply moved at the level of attention, openness, and warmth we received from our wonderful server. He juggled his job and this deep warmth meticulously and continued to check on us and connect without any issue. It’s been a long long time since I’ve felt that seen and cared for in a setting that truly only calls for adequate service. Needless to say, between the lady who greeted us, our incredible server, and the other lady covering the indoor seating, we will be back and so look forward to it. These staff members are the exact sort of staff you’d want to run into while on a quick dinner date with your dear one(s). HIGHLY recommend coming here for the staff and a close second for the food. In this hard world it has become somewhat of a rarity for folks in service to maintain capacity to treat folks the way we were treated last night, whilst juggling their own private lives. I really don’t say this lightly—if you’re looking for a neighborhood spot where you’ll feel deeply cared for, please go to the Harvard El Patio and ask for Rain. He works all day Saturday and Sunday! Thank you all for a quick but truly unforgettably moving time. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20

I just had one of the best New Mexican meals of my life at El Patio de Albuquerque, and I can’t stop thinking about it! This place is a true Albuquerque gem and absolutely deserves all the hype it receives. We went to the Harvard Drive location and were blown away from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming — cozy indoor seating with that perfect local vibe, and the outdoor patio is magical (especially with the string lights). The service was fast, friendly, and genuinely attentive, even when they were busy. The food? Outstanding. The **green chile chicken burrito was incredible — perfectly cooked, smothered in that legendary New Mexico chile that has just the right heat and flavor. The **carne adovada** was tender and packed with flavor, and those **sopaipillas**… oh my gosh. Light, fluffy, and the best I’ve ever had anywhere. We also devoured the fresh chips and salsa (the green chile salsa is addictive) and some amazing guacamole. Portions are generous, everything tastes homemade, and you can tell they take real pride in their cooking. This is the kind of place that makes you proud to be eating in New Mexico. If you’re in Albuquerque, do yourself a favor and go to El Patio. You’ll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit. One of the best restaurants in the city — hands down! Order type: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Recommended dishes: Burrito, Green Chile Cheese Burger and Fries Parking space: Somewhat difficult to find parking Parking options: Paid street parking
