I had a horrible customer service experience with Del Mar Columbus. I made reservation for their smallest private room. It holds 5-7 people. Later that day, I stopped by the restaurant to see the room. I confirmed the reservation and dined at the restaurant. I left thinking everything was good. A few days later the restaurant called to confirm my reservation, and I wanted to confirm that it was in their private rooms. I was told that I did not have a reservation for the room, but that it was noted as a request, only. I was confused and explained that I had called and visited the restaurant and on each occasion the room was confirmed. I was told that private room could not be reserved unless it was done with the event coordinator. This was the first time anything had said I needed to do that. I asked to speak with the opportunity to work with the event coordinator and was told the person was gone for the day. Keep in mind, It was a Friday and my reservation was for Sunday. I talked with the dining manager and explained the situation. She refused to acknowledge my situation and did not apologize for confusion that was perpetuated by the restaurant staff. She spoke to me like I had fabricated the entire situation. I cancelled my reservation and made one at another restaurant, I frequent.
