Rapid Eye Movement

I haven't seen to many posts lately, so i'm posting. How Rebelious.

A while ago i had this dream that i tell of. It involves a girl called Katie who i am very close with but not boyfriend etc.

I was with a large group of friends. Most of the people in my social group were then having a grand old time. We were at cave type of place, with walls made out of what looked like the remains of a dodgy tin shed. These did not seem to have a logical pattern and were just randomly splattered upon the walls. I was their with Katie and we were gentling romancing. We were enjoying the film which was quite spooky and we would usually never see (Most people from my social group enjoy Hollywood Junk), it left me scared but happy i had Katie their to be with me. I woke up happy.

Fast forward from that Monday mourning to friday and things have gone haywire. Fast forward to tuesday afternoon and it's okay again. The chronological order of these events just occured to me. This was bizarre.

Kiddies, there was a god, he just gave up on us a long time ago and went far far away where he would never have to see his failure ever again. He's still kicking himself for choosing to create humans over unicorns. Sure they were amusing for a time...until they started destroying the stuff he created, especially each other, and he got pissed. So he started creating a new world somewhere which is more powerful than us and can wipe us out safely without having to hurt some of his good ideas i.e. the stuff which is endangered. And chickens. God really likes chickens.

Err...okay. Brain isn't awake yet. I had a bunch of dreams I was going to post, but I keep forgetting. Blah, goodnight.

Okay, I've a theory to put forth about an aspect of astral projection, the silver cord.

For those of you not in the know, many astral projectors encounter what is called the silver cord. They describe it as a silver (natch) cord of varying thickness that attaches the physical and astral bodies. Usually, they blame it for an unsuccessful projection. Some poeple never see this cord, so its existence and role in astral projection is debatable. However, for my theory to be valid, we will assume that it does exist. My theory is that the silver cord is merely the visualization of a connection to one's body and nothing more. Projectors are usually uncomfortable being outside their bodies, so the connection would be a comfort that they are not yet dead.
And the pulling of it? That's being uncomfortable outside the body. When people think of their body on the astral plane, they are willed to it. It's a defense on the astral planes, which might be why we wake up after a particularly bad nightmare. Because we AP during sleep, nightmares could be an encounter with something nasty on the astral planes, and so we pull ourselves back. The same principle should then apply to conscious projection, except that the trigger for it could be heightened.

i have been having a reccurring night terror that concludes in sleep paralysis for over a year and a half. yeah thats why i joined this post. lately ive been having the nightmare multiple times a night, which is bad because my sleep paralysis always concludes with me being awake. the night terror part is always slightly different. but the sleep paralysis is seldom changing. i read somewhere that if you dont sleep on your back you wont have any/many sleep paralysi. this worked for about a month and a half, now it doesnt matter how i sleep.

Hey I'm new and following the rules by posting up some stuff. I've done the arrogant thing and not read any of the other posts yet, so apologies if you've heard what i'm about to say fifty times before. "I believe" that dreams are messages from the subconcious mind, I'm currently learning to conciously dream. I'm writing down all my dreams as soon as i wake up and after a month of this i pick an object to tell me i'm dreaming and i'll be told when i'm dreaming, i can't wait, i've got two weeks left. :)

Hello, all. I found this community whilst perusing my friends page and joined because of my extreme interest in dreams and astral projection. Why am I interested in dreams? Because dreams tie into astral projection extremely closely. Crack open any book on the subject of astral travel and there will always be at least one chapter devoted to the connection between dreams and OBE's/astral projection. I'm hoping this community will expand my knowledge on the subject and eventually help me get out into the aether. Well, goodnight. And don't the flesh-eating demon bed babies bite!

Hello, I am Ciambawildcat, and I have a strong connection to my dreams. I seem to always either save the world, or destroy it. Perhaps this symbolizes the two opposite ends of the spectrum in regards to the different paths that we can take, or maybe I'm just too much of a fantasy book person. Either way works.

The subject, as a note, is a quote from the song I am listening to. I think music really sets the mood for things like this. This just happens to be a particularly good line.

Anyways, on to my last major dream, which occured a few nights ago.

I'm Adelaide...


Recently I have become more aware of the dreams I have as well as what they mean.
I feel that dreams either are about the emotions you have around that time of the dream, or problems you are having in life, or even signs of things that may happen in the future weather that is in two days or 2 years....I dont know much about this topic so I may be wrong about all this. But I am hear to learn. So let me know what you think. I am also very intrested in sleeping stages and if diffrent ways you fall asleep or how much sleep you get during the night will effect the dreams you have. I am not much of a sleeper so I am wondering if that has any effect on my dreams or maybe way I dont have many dreams that I remember. Oh yea..I also heard that you have a dream about every 2 minutes but you only remember the last dream you had before you wake up. Is this true?

Okay, so, a little background information. I have a mild case of depression, which is what primarily causes my insomnia. I've come to the conclusion that my depression stems from my fear of being alone (and to the furthest extent, dying alone). These are two dream from a bit ago that involved that theme. They have been my two most vivid dreams. I could swear I was awake.
