Sorry for the over-abundance of posts today, but I just posted this in the BR community and thought some of you on here might be interested:
I monitor interstate traffic cameras across the state. It's still in the test phases, but we've created a Twitter account for people that would like updates on interstate traffic in the Baton Rouge area. You can get the information texted to your phone, even. I'm not a big Twitter fan but I think it's good for this purpose. Please follow us and be a part of our initial test group to give feedback :) Let all your friends and family know!
Since I couldn’t get back to sleep, I just went ahead and did a big cut to my friends list, which I’ve been meaning to do for awhile. It’s nothing personal. It was just either A) you never post anymore [and we have other ways of getting in touch like myspace or fb] or B) we don’t have much in common and never commented on each other’s journals. If you think I deleted you in error [which is possible...I got a little click happy] or you just don’t update but still read, let me know and I’ll add you back.
OPINIONS ON THE IPHONE FROM THOSE WHO HAVE THEM, PLEASE? :)
aaaaannnddd.... GO!
p.s. basically, i want a good phone that has a good quality camera (with a flash) built in and useable internet. suggestions other than the iphone are also welcome :)
My mom's new video that I was talking about. It's only a minute and a half. And my boyfriend, stepdad, and mom are all in it too :) I did "makeup" and helped shoot and direct it.
Oh, let me know if any of y'all like any Chanel fragrances. I have full-size bottles of Platinum Egoiste (for men), No5, Chance, Allure, Coco Mademoiselle, and Allure Sensuelle (which I might keep). The bottles retail from $65-$110 and I am selling them for less than half price. Let me know if you're interested in any and I'll let you know how much :)
michael actually decided to sleep at his mom's tonight (he had to go over there to store some stuff anyway), so i have the night/apartment/bed to myself. i am sort of freaked out and sad, yet happy and excited at the same time. i think i am going to stop by my mom's after work and steal her blender so i can at least experiment with green smoothies tomorrow and decide if it's worth it to buy my own blender. which means i will have to wake up early (for me) to drive to the produce stand and get some good stuff. i need to wake up early to go to the the post office anyway, so that's cool.
sorry for all the posts tonight! i'm super bored and seem to have a lot to say, for some reason.
i really hate when i look at my phone and think i have a text message and i'm all like "ooh, yay!" and then it is some dumb message from AT&T about sports or games or ringtones or some shit.
so...annoying.
**EDIT** thank you to lynds and paula for my non-at&t texts :p love you both!
Recently, I have been having a lot of problems with my face/skin. I have always had dry skin, but it's been worse recently, even after exfoliating and no matter how much or what kind of lotion I used. I also had isolated breakouts and my skin was red and blotchy in places. I looked up natural facial scrubs online and I came up with a great one from the research I did. I have used it for 3 days now (so I don't know the long-term usefulness of it) and it's made my skin sooo soft, clean, moisturized, and clear. Here is the recipe, as I adapted it (I didn't want to make too much in case I didn't like it or in case it spoiled):
Olive Oil & Salt Scrub
Take an air-tight container (I used a small tupperware) and pour equal parts of table salt and ground sea salt. Pour enough olive oil in to make a thick paste. Add 2 drops of tea tree oil (to help acne) and 2 drops of peppermint oil (to make it smell good, cool, and invigorate). Stir it all together. Now just bring it in the shower, slap it on your face, and scrub gently (avoid eye area)! Rinse well with warm water. It might feel like there is a slight greasy residue left in the shower, but as soon as you get out of the water, it absorbs into your skin and leaves it soft and dewy. I have read many articles that say this is totally safe, even if you have oily skin. It will NOT make your skin oilier.
I have already had several people tell me how fresh and pretty I look since I started using it! It's really wonderful.
I am also looking into buying some Virgin Coconut Oil to use as moisturizer and hair conditioner. I have read amazing things about how beneficial it is.
