very amused that pantheon smp is already getting ship names. So far “Breezeloathing” and “Thunderbreeze” seem to be the top contenders for Pangundo/Pansmajor

as someone who has been in miscellaneous mythology-based fandoms for awhile and has also done decently varied and intensive-for-casual-use non-fandom mythology research for over 10 years, alongside being generally aware of how fandoms work, i’ve decided to put together a quick little “[taps the sign]” list gearing up for Pantheon SMP. Feel free to refer to this whenever or do whatever and what-have-you, as I feel like these topics may come up a lot.

I’ll put the mythology-specific ones under a cut for length. That being said, [ahem]

General housekeeping:

  • Please remember that a lot of the creators in Pantheon SMP lean more PG/PG-13. I know Greek mythology is Greek mythology, and jokes will be made and everybody is shirtless and what-not. But be mindful particularly in community spaces, especially for those creators (AND THEIR MODS. PLEASE), and temper yourselves. Maybe save some of the shirtless art for your own socials/servers rather than in community discord servers, and be mindful of how you tag it/where you put it.
  • Related to that: Yes, there is a lot of toplessness in this smp. There is nothing wrong with that. But please keep in mind that in the most literal definition of the term, in many cases that can be not safe for work. As in folks may get in trouble if they have art of that open in their workplace. It can definitely feel awkward tagging Minecraft stuff that, but at the very least make sure you’re tagging for partial nudity or similar. Just so people can filter tags.

bug report pantheon smp delete later < maybe. we'll see. maybe im just weary since before vamps i had just stumbled out of a different mythology fandom (pjo. it was pjo. for like 15+ years.) (i mean im in multiple [read - MANY] mythology fandoms but pjo was specifically the one i stumbled out of wearily) or maybe because im writing this past midnight. but felt like i should jot down a couple of things especially since ive already seen in a ton of spaces people having to explain what versions of myths PanSMP seems to be going with or clarifying which gods are which (particularly in the instance of Chronos. rip) Chronos vs Kronos/Cronus has been a pet peeve of mine for years though so im actually kind of glad its getting discussed so much seriously though Thessaly had a half-different dodekotheon! one of their 12 Olympians was Enodia! thats not one you usually see included! greek mythos is all over the place. we can go with whatever works best for the story anyways if you'll need me i'll be in my corner rambling about niche mythology things i researched 1-10 years ago for other projects and having fun playing dolls with the axe guy. yippee axes i suppose though also if anybody has mythology questions throughout the smp though uh. well. i am overly qualified. seriously in pjoblr on my other blog i was literally one of the big guys people went to with mythology questions. technically still am. ALSO BEFORE ANYONE ASKS. AGAIN. NO I AM NOT RED OSP. I SWEAR IM NOT RED OSP. WE ARE DIFFERENT PEOPLE.
