the person:

Costumer, first and (with disclaimers) foremost. One of the many reasons people run across this journal. There's the accidental findings as well occasionally (or when I post somewhere that isn't my journal), but that's another story.

In terms of what you find here...it'll vary in theme. Various hobby things, life things, the occasional funny cat video, random images from the road...you just never know. I don't expect people to comment on every post I make. In fact, if you do that, I might find you a bit creepy. But by all means pop in and say something when the mood strikes you. I like to know folks are reading. I try to return the favor, but sometimes I find it easier to just sit back and read. Me not commenting is most likely a sign of absorbing. Heck I might have tried to write something and realized "Eh, it's just gonna waste time." :)

I'd classify myself as a "nice person". Nice, however, does not mean I am a pushover, nor does it mean I will suffer peoples' behavior when it's stupid. I don't have time to put up with it. Most people have an angel and a demon on their shoulder. My angel is a kid at heart and will love everyone near-unconditionally. She feels sorrow when she is hurt and when others are hurting. My demon is an old lady carries a big-ol' stick. She fires up easily and is not afraid to aggressively negotiate with great prejudice.

on adding/friends/errata:

This journal has VERY RARE and usually temporary public posts. If you want to read it, you need to be friended to it. Sorry, them's the rules. I am usually pretty open to giving people the chance, especially if it appears we'll get along.

I have a big friends list, but it's not because I'm a friend-hoarder. I've had my journal since 2001, and some of those who are here have been here from the beginning.

If you add me: I like to know when/why people add, mostly because I don't keep constant tabs on my user info as much as some. It's good to know who is reading out there, though, and generally I'll add back if I feel like the person in question isn't some whackhead. I am usually less likely to friend someone if they haven't at least made an introduction of sorts or if I can't guess pretty obviously who they are and how I might have connected with them.

If I add you: I add people with reason...we share some interests, we might have met somewhere and I want to keep track and say hi from time to time, or someone I know said 'hey, you'd like to get to know this person better". If someone strikes me as a potentially good read then I'll go for it. People I have met in person and feel like I know might get less scrutiny.

NOTE: I reserve the right to friend and defriend whenever I feel like it. It may or may not have a reason, and I don't feel particularly inclined to hide behind the "it's nothing personal" statement. I don't need to. If it's personal, it's personal and I'm sure you'll know it. If not? It's not, and nothing to get upset about.

This works the other way around too. I'd like to feel that the interesting in reading about one's stuff runs both ways, but I never expect it, especially with people that I'm less acquainted with.

the rules:

-Common sense behavior rules.
-Links to silly videos, news stuff, and anything that is out in the wild and not personal are fine to pass on.
-I don't leak the personal stuff you post, you don't leak the personal stuff I post.
-Have fun. For the most part, I have been. I wouldn't have been here so long if I wasn't.
