most of my tastes in the arts are generally not shared by my freinds, movies are pretty close. my taste in books and music is usually way off though. especially i think my love for well written news paper comic strips leaning towards a political nature. bloom county, boondocks, doonesbury and lately pearls before swine. and even though not political dilbert and poochcafe and of course calvin and hobbes. but i really feel these strips say a fair deal about man kind or at least back up my cynical deep seeded hatred of commercial society. which i of course participate in ready and willingly, so no diatribes on my hypocrisy i've given up even trying to convince myself of the lie that i am on the outside looking in. i know now i am in the middle looking around.
back to my original topic if ever you get the chance i suggest reading those titles listed humor is an oft under appreciated gift bestowed upon most of humanity. and while you are at it pick up some kurt vonnegut preferably his older work, sirens of titan is excellent.

i have always been pretty sure that dreams don't mean anything, but i always wonder why the only thing i ever dream about is being a superhero (sometimes batman, sometimes wolverine, superman too and then just some random super strong guy or flyer). maybe dreams do mean something.
when you see the same car that you are driving coming towards you, do you hope to see yourself going the other way. you know maybe one of you has been sucked into a time vortex or something, i wish for that everytime i pass a car the same as the one i am in.
i wanna play in a band again. i would really like to play some death metal, just to give that a try. you know since i am in respected position and getting married soon i figure i should play the most brutal form of music i can (on a side note i find it weird/satisfying that my musical taste is the most extreme in the school i teach at). really though i think i would play rock or anything where i could write some songs or play songs i have written. i guess that is really what i want to do play songs i have written with an entire band. now to find a group of musicians who like to switch from grindcore to jazz and blues and stoner style rock and metal and even some atmospheric stuff. what are mr bungle up to these days?
i've started reading the daily comic doonesbury and it actually is quite funny but much like good comic strips it must be read consistently. i guess that is why i never found it funny before. and i just thought i would announce this for your all amusement.
