Apparently

Some people presume that "educated" people are somehow limited to only those concepts used by our predecessors. To those miseducated individuals, I will say only that one is not a philosopher by simply saying what previous philosophers have said, but by doing what previous philosophers have done, which is crafting conceptual systems; similarly for mathematicians and scientists, given that the quest for greater understanding of reality is logically endless. I will assert that we ought to craft conceptual systems, not only for the purpose of analyzing and synthesizing concepts, but for integrating concepts with experience in apparently useful ways. Useful in the sense that they allow us to predict and consequently manipulate our experiences with greater reliability and precision.

So what?

Even if El Presidente "declassified" Plame's information, it's still criminal; regardless of their protestations otherwise, there is no reasonable explanation of the chain of events except that it was politically motivated. US intelligence assets were lost in a time of war as a result of the actions of the administration; that is "adhering to [the] Enemies [of the People of the United States of America], giving them Aid and Comfort", by definition. Consequently, this administration is guilty of treason and is, literally, a criminal regime.

I had a discussion with my girlfriend the other day about this, we have each come to some conclusions but it was a thought I hadn't previously had and am curious to see what you all think.

What factors contribute to us calling a place "home"?

Is it possible to have more than one "home"?

Is it possible to not have a "home" at all?

Is the cliche' "home is where the heart is" true? Is still still something more to it?

To maybe inspire more thought I'll give the small back story.

I have lived on my own for almost 2 years now, totally new state, new house, new job, new life essentially, and yet when I refer to back in Denver (the house I grew up in where my folks live) I say "back home". It suddenly struck me as strange the other day that I do that. I began to wonder then when that will change, or if it ever will. When I get married will I start calling the house where my wife and children are home? Will I call them both home? Is home even a specific place (eg building/city) or is it a general place or dare I even say "feeling"?

What is the importance of having this thing known as a "home"? Would it be bad if you didn't have one and were always "on the go"?

I have no idea what kind of responses I'm looking for, I guess just a little study of words that fascinated me that I'd love to see others thoughts about.

enjoy

hello

The USFG should substantially increase diplomatic and economic pressure on the People's Republic of China in one or more of the following areas: trade, human rights, weapons nonproliferation, Taiwan.

Granddaughter yanks grandma's feeding tube

There were many of you that couldn't understand why the Schiavo case was such a big deal. Many were saying silly things like, "She's in a vegetative state so . . . ." and "I wouldn't want to live like . . . ." and "if she had only haed a living will." Well this article shows why the Schiavo case was a big deal. Now we will murder anyone who is an inconveince. This is a wicked wicked turn of events. We as a nation will pay for this evil.

http://www.wnd.com/news/article.as…
In a situation recalling the recent death of Terri Schiavo in Florida, an 81-year-old widow, denied nourishment and fluids for nearly two weeks, is clinging to life in a hospice in LaGrange, Ga., while her immediate family fights desperately to save her life before she dies of starvation and dehydration.

Mae Magouirk was neither terminally ill, comatose nor in a "vegetative state," when Hospice-LaGrange accepted her as a patient about two weeks ago upon the request of her granddaughter, Beth Gaddy, 36, an elementary school teacher.
In her living will, Magouirk stated that fluids and nourishment were to be withheld only if she were either comatose or "vegetative," and she is neither. Nor is she terminally ill, which is generally a requirement for admission to a hospice.

Yes, this is cross posted. It is way too important to not let everyone possible know.

States Debating Photo IDs at Polls

INDIANAPOLIS -- Legislation that would require voters to show photo identification before casting ballots has touched off fierce debate in three states, with opponents complaining the measures represent a return to the days of poll taxes and Jim Crow.

Lawmakers in Georgia and Indiana walked off the job to protest the proposals, which they say would deprive the poor, the elderly and minorities of the right to vote. Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle, a Democrat, has already vetoed a similar measure and has vowed to do so again.
Story Continues Below

Republicans argue the bills would restore voter confidence and eliminate fraud without overly burdening voters, most of whom have driver's licenses or photo IDs anyway.
"I want everyone to be able to vote - once," said Indiana state Sen. Victor Heinold, a Republican.

I am all for this. I am sick to death of the braying of the donkey party. This will not deprive the poor or the elderly or minorities of the right to vote. All they have to do is get a free picture ID. They should have one already. If they do not, they don't need to vote. I am sick of the belly aching of the democrats on this and many issues. They do not care about the rights of the poor or the elderly or minorites. They are worried that this will make it more difficult to cheat at the polls.
