Join OC Read for our bi-annual open house event where we showcase miniature versions of our favorite ESL and literacy workshops. This is a quick way to learn about all the services available and is perfect for new and returning OC Read learners. 

Practice your reading and communication skills by playing classic board games with fellow learners and tutors. Family members of all ages are encouraged to come so you can all work on literacy skills together. 

Guest speakers share tips about health topics like teeth, vision, and general wellness. These sessions help families stay healthy and support each other, and are great practice for ESL learners and adult literacy learners working on writing, listening, or reading comprehension skills. 

Learn the basics of writing lyrics for songs in this literacy-centered workshop for the whole family. 

Learn about emotions and how to manage them. Create a calendar to track feelings and talk about emotional wellness with your family.

For adults with young children: Learn different reading methods and build healthy reading habits at home.

During Stress Awareness Month, learn helpful ways to manage stress and take care of your mental health.

Take home a craft kit that includes simple instructions, and a reading or writing activity. Kits are available for enrolled and eligible learners. You can also contribute to our OC Read learning community by interacting with the bulletin board in our OC Read Center (Tustin Library, DVD Room).

Flex your inner home cook at this program designed to teach you kitchen basics while practicing reading and conversational skills.

Join fellow learners in this friendly book club that explores popular titles from today, yesterday, and long ago. Book club is suitable for all reading levels, and non-ESL learners are encouraged to also join.
