So I'm merrily wandering about town, turning in quests and feeling quite good about myself because I just finished two quests that had been bugging my butt and survived, and this group of three players starts following me. One of them requests a sparring match of me, and I decline. They seem to be heading the same way as me, but that happens; people do the same quests and have to go to the same locations, so I'm not bothered.
Then, while I'm turning in my quest and trying to read the text instructions, I notice that they're all sort of crowding around. Since I don't need to be right there to read the quest, I back up to the wall to give them room.
They follow me, "pinning" me against the wall as it were. So now I'm starting to feel a little bit nervous: in-game nervous, which is not really the same as real-life nervous (after all, they can't harm me in-game). One of them says, "whaddup baby?" and I promptly put him on ignore.
It's then that I notice their kinship (guild) name: "Rollin' Deep." I also notice that they're all playing black characters, like me. So it starts to make a bit more sense, like why they've honed in on me like this. However, I'm not sure what their intent is exactly, since I'm already in a kinship (so I don't suspect they just wanted me to join their kinship of black characters - which by the way isn't a bad idea for a kinship, just not the way they're doing it!), and I have my roleplaying switch ON, which means I won't be responding to a lame/offensive chat line like "whaddup baby" for goodness' sake.
I decide that I should probably get out of there, so I turn around and run. They follow me around for a bit and I realize I'm not going to be able to shake them, so I get ready to log off. As I do, another one of them, whom I hadn't yet put on ignore, says "come on, baby." I would have put him on ignore, too, but my log-off was already in progress.
Sigh. What assholes. Now I don't want to log in again for a while in case they're still there, so I might as well quit playing for the night. Thanks for ruining my gaming evening, doofuses!
