Well, my 15-minute car nap turned into a 60-minute car nap... >_>... good thing I've been working so much overtime.

I was just thinking about how last weekend [livejournal.com profile] vandonovan showed me some of the new Dr. Who, while I pimped Battlestar Galactica. We watched the first half of the miniseries, and whoo boy... between that and ep. 2x11 (haven't watched 2x12 yet), I'd forgotten the feel of BSG and how, well, utterly different it is from Firefly. I know that there are moments of levity and downright adorableness between Starbuck and Apollo and that Baltar is delightfully insane and Dualla and Billy are omgsocute, but the overarching theme of BSG is OMGTEHANGST!!!!. I mean, how can it not be, what with the genocide and constant threat of annihilation and all. It's really well-written and acted, and I love all of these characters, but man, what a downer! As I said to Van, even at his darkest, Mal still managed to be quippy in Serenity, you know?

It's really obvious to me now how come that never became a fandom for me. I can't handle that much stomach-clenching tension. I can't dwell there. But yeah. I gotta watch 2x12. I've missed BSG, and want to see people flirting with each other again instead of being all OMGTEHTENSION!!

After that, Dr. Who was a welcome jaunt in frivolity, lemme tell you. I have never ever seen a single second of Dr. Who before, in any of its incarnations, so it was interesting. I found it to be fun and colorful and cute! I like Rose a lot (and remember Billie Piper from her singing career, haha). I want to see more, but not as a fandomy thing. But now I'll understand what the heck is going on when my flist talks about it, so yay.

Next, someone should attempt to pimp me into SGA, at Escapade. *waggles eyebrows*

I love BSG, mostly for those little fluffy moments, but the rest keeps me on the edge so that when they do happen I enjoy it so much more.
Plus, I finally saw the mini series. So much cuteness in unexpected places. XD

I love little things like Starbuck, hopped up on stims, in 33. Or Caprica games of Pyramid. Or Baltar fucking the air. Or anything Dualla does, ever.

But it's all just so perilous. :/

I guess I grew up with perilous too... I have been a Star Wars fangirl since the rerelease, and I read every single book they published before like, 2000. Plus my mom and I used to watch Walker Texas Ranger religiously. I know, confession of a true geek. But we did. And true, there you know no one is really going to die. But... still, violence and doom. :P

My favorite bits are definately the pairing things. In addition to the pyramid game, I'd like to add the water fight on Cloud 9 t the list of top fool around moments. Also, the episode in which everyone was interviewed and there was near droppage of towel. XD

But there are days when I am just so "aaghhhh" at it all I need a short pause. Hasn't been one recently, but still. ;)

Yeah, I see your point.... meanwhile, I even don't watch thrillers and suspense movies or TV shows, due to the neverending peril *g*.

Awww the water fight on Cloud 9! I'd forgotten about that! Kara and Lee are so delightful. <333
