underrated tumblr feature is being able to catch up to yourself on your dash. so there is an END POINT. and you can say “ah, I have reached where I left off, there is no more to see! I’ll take my leave now and come back later when there are new posts.” instead of being stuck forever in a bottomless algorithm pit digging deeper and deeper till you have to summon monumental strength to climb out

Do the AI people know that the rest of us who never got on the bandwagon are still doing everything the same way we always have

The AI boom has changed literally nothing about my day to day life except I now have to work harder to get access to reliable information, all the important admin work is being done wrong, and I keep getting DMs letting me know the perfectly ordinary and plausible photo I liked was actually a fake image generated by a fascist to generate views and churn out ad money for the purpose of funding their tree-powered puppy disintegration beam

i am curious because i (‘06 baby) never got it or knew anyone who got it but in TV and movies it was sort of treated as like a rite of passage? like everyone got it? i saw a older gen z/maybe millenial talking abt it like that. ik the vaccine came out abt a decade before i was born but idk when it became common or if outside of my community (like other regions/countries) it is common to get chicken pox still ?

no I got vaccinated and then got shingles in the third grade 👎
