I RPed for my first time in... seven or eight years. Maybe longer, I can't remember.
I used Idurien (Leader of the Desert Mercenaries from my NaNo 2013 novel) as a test. It went well.
My posts were rusty as fuck, though... I used to write "novels" for posts. Used to take me 30 mins to reply. Everyone hated it. XD Last night, I could barely write anything past five lines.
But, you know. It's a start.
Speaking of RP, I have been informed, yesterday, that Shelly has returned to Chatalot. Chatalot is where I used to RP. in Shelly's room. Apparently, she wants us all to come back. With our characters.
Like Seth and Malrich.
Yeah... no.
I don't mind returning (if I have time), but, if anything, I will have a brand-new character. Seth and Malrich have come too far to be thrust back into that mess.
I had a strange dream. I don't remember all of the details, but I do remember some.
I was in some sort of tall building. We were warned to open all windows and doors as a vacuum project in the basement had gone awry, and it would prevent us from being sucked up from the inside while they fix the problem.
Well, the problem was becoming worse. So we had to go up a few levels in the building.
And then there was a storm going on outside, too. So we had to take cover.
We quite obviously had to leave the building that we were in, but we could barely see anything outside, either. I ran back inside to Thad and I's "bedroom" and grabbed my Egyptian statues of Seth, and maybe Anubis, that one's a little fuzzy (or was it Bastet?), but I also grabbed a statue of my novel character Seth Phoenix. At the time, in my dream, this was nothing to bat an eye at, but now that I'm awake, I think it's pretty cool to have Phoenix - God of Resurrection as a statue. <3
Somebody asked me to come into their hut and help them with a phone call. Apparently she had been trying to make an appointment for three hours, and couldn't hear anything due to the howling of the storm. So I went into the hut with her, and I thought she was going to put the phone on speaker so that we could both listen, but she just had me go by one of the windows and hold it shut, while another of her friends held the door shut.
I knew that we would be vacuumed from the inside if we shut them completely, so I just had the window opened very slightly, and I was keeping an eye on everything, until we were told that the storm was massive, and to shut all doors and windows.
So we did (guess the vacuum problem had been fixed). And then everything and everyone was silent. All you could hear was the roaring of the storm. At that moment, all I really cared about was keeping the window shut, and making sure that my statues were fine.
And suddenly, the noise stopped. When I looked outside, it was a beautiful clear blue sky with the sun shining. We stepped outside and saw the damage- the hut we were in was half-collapsed, and there were blue jeans EVERYWHERE.
XD XD
Also: Why does Sekhmet not want to be found? I had a statue of her when I lived in Sherbrooke, Quebec, that I can't find. Yesterday, I was going through my pictures on my phone and found one of a new statue of Sekhmet that I bought... But I can't find it anywhere.
I remember somebody telling me a few years back that "When she wants to be found, you'll find her".
So... Now that I have TWO statues missing... Why doesn't she want to be found?
We were in some sort of... old building. I'm not sure if it was a castle, or mansion, or inn, or whatever. All I know is that there were many rooms, and they were HUGE.
It was a dark and stormy night, and we were warned not to do this and not to do that because the dangerous mythical creatures would haunt us. Seth did this and that, anyway, because he did not believe in the dangerous hauntings, but rather believed that everything had a reason to occur.
So he gets ready for bed (in a huge and comfy king size bed! zomg!), and he's about to watch this movie on this old time reel projector, of which he was warned not to do, but did it anyway. He's dozing off, and this spirit of a woman peels herself from the image and floats towards him.
Seth's not afraid. They talk. She's sad because she's not really dead, just trapped in that form. So Seth tells her to go see Savanna (my friend's daughter) and that she has the ability to help. The woman smiles and thanks Seth, then floats away. Seth falls asleep.
When Seth wakes up, he notices a body curled up next to him. Naked. Blonde hair. She wakes up and sees Seth's confusion, and explains that she was the spirit of the woman, and that Savanna had helped her return to her corporeal body, and that she was ever so thankful.
Then they do stuff. *ahem*.
A little while later, Seth exits the room, and sees Savanna exiting her own room. She tells him a "story" about how she encountered the spirit of a woman who told her that Seth had sent her her way. Seth smirks and shakes his head. **I** smirk and shake my head and blush, telling Savanna that she's trying to get my male alter-ego in trouble with what they had just done.
In trouble with who, I don't know... To my knowledge, Seth wasn't in any relationship at that point... *shrugs* But I dunno what got into Seth anyway... He wouldn't do that with just anybody...
In January, I started editing my NaNo2012 novel to be published.
The first few chapters weren't bad, but the further into it I got, the more I realized that, because of NaNoWriMo's "quantity before quality" rule, I had to rewrite portions, and even entire chapters. And while I do that, my NaNo2013 characters are screaming for attention.
So then I think to myself: "Self*, what if I just edit my NaNo2013 novel, instead?" But then I think to myself: "Self... NaNo2013 is a sequel to NaNo2011, and you'll have to rewrite that story first, and your NaNo2013 characters will still be screaming for attention."
And to top all of that off, Seth, Malrich, and Sadie are waiting ever so impatiently to have their stories told, which I told them would happen after I've tested the waters of the publishing world, first. Seeing as how they're my babies for the past 14-ish years, and all... I would be devastated if people hated their stories.
Now... I'm WAY behind on my publishing schedule. I had planned to have everything done by the end of February, and when that didn't happen (thanks to work), I told myself March. Except that it's still not happening due to my conflicted attention.
So what do I do? Work on one chapter of one story, then one chapter of the other, and keep going back and forth like that? Force one story to the back of my mind, and just try focusing on the other? Set them both aside and work on something else entirely?
UGH. Help...

*I think I've been watching too much Supernatural, lately... I found it amusing when Crowley was saying this. XD
I almost feel like saying "It's a small world". I go from books to religion, to religious mentions in books. Know what completes the circle? The two books I ordered on Amazon.com are books on Kemetism.
HA!
Anyway. On a completely random note, valerie_inlove, I watched a random episode of Supernatural. I was boredly flipping through the channels on TV, and came across Supernatural. I decided to watch it to see what it's all about since you love it (And to see this Jared guy). It was an episode about a lucky (or unlucky) rabbit's foot. I think unlucky!Sam made me giggle most.
OKAY! Off to bed, because I teach the drum circle at Allen Park Guitar Center in the morning. The guys at Guitar Center have given up. Guitar Center corporate don't seem to understand that not all drummers are percussionists. Sure, they play a drum kit, but have NO IDEA what's going on when it comes to other percussion instruments. Even the guys from the drumming department say so. I, on the other hand, took doumbek classes, and though I do own a drum kit, also own two doumbeks and a bodhran. I also know how to play the cajon, tupan, and djembe, as well as knowing most rhythms associated with them. The guys from the drumming department, even the Store manager, let me teach the workshops. *grins*
Friday night I had a dream that a neighbor from when I lived in Chambly, Sasha's mom, had an arrest warrant out for me because I would not reciprocate her son's feelings for me. He was oh-so worried about me and I wouldn't return his calls. So I went to see her to explain to her, but the cops got there, and soon i was in handcuffs. I got super dry skin beneath the cuffs, which caused my skin to crack and slice open, which apparently made me guilty of not rubbing oil on my wrists. Bail was set at $100, but I refused to pay because I was innocent, which totally made me seem guilty.
Then last night I had a dream that I was Seth. I think I can count on both hands the amount of times that happens. I miss it, really. (For those of my new LJ friends who don't know, Seth is one of my novel characters that I've been working on for the past 13 years. His creation came to be when I had a dream one night that I was this scrawny scientist MAN who could travel through shadows and turn into a HUGE fiery demon.) In my dream we were at some festival. I was trying to hide my identity, covered in a cloak. Everything was colorful and the entire scene was washed out from the brightness of the sun. I was going to watch a play done by children. I guess, somehow, they figured out who I was. They created a throne for me in the center of the audience (Really, a BIG wooden chair painted bright yellow, with two burgundy pillows, one to sit on, one to lean on). There was a butcher who did not like me. He was going to kill somebody just to prove a point. I travelled through the shadows and stopped the butcher simply by talking (Seth is VERY non-violent). I had to cross through a pub on my way back to the play when I saw a certain Shadowwielder (this character was created by somebody who no longer wants anything to do with me IRL. I still miss her.) enjoying a pint. Luster raised his pint, congratulating me on stopping the butcher (who was going to kill the children). I told him that I was doing it for my grandchildren, and vanished through his shadow, returning to my "throne". I watched the play. I enjoyed it. I soon realized that Luster had watched it, as well, behind me. When I looked at him, he said "Grandchildren?" because he knows that I never had any children. I simply smirked and said "It's a complicated story, my friend." before waking up.
The only thing I can think of is that Seth was a Watcher for a lot of children. I know a few of them loved him like a father. Maybe they eventually had kids who considered him their grandfather? Who knows, but I have an idea for a drabble over at thewyrmx... :)
