Inmate Wu Xie | File | TLV
Dec. 6th, 2022 12:17 amGoing to skip the build up of what made the Wu Fam and the Nine Gates and all that and just focus on Wu Xie in bullet notes:
late 1980-1990's - Wu Xie learns how to write in the Shou Jin / Slender Gold (瘦金体) calligraphy style and is taught the habits of someone called Qi Yu, training him along the way of a code/riddle master
his parents live separate from him and he spends a lot of time with his grandmother and two uncles - Ershu and Sanshu. Ershu is a businessman specializing in security while Sanshu is more of a scoundrel. He's the only son of his family and also is gravely hurt by how little his parents seem to act as parents. Both of them have outside flings and he just is there to smile politely and while he loves them, it's a bitter kind of love.
he has a normal life outside of that, going to school and growing up and his grandfather passes away while he is in a different country finishing his degree. he spots someone smuggling a tomb decoration and decides to steal it back and succeeds and is chased by mercenaries across countries until a mystery man appears. he gets the artifact home and finds that there's a map inside of it.
the map leads him to his first tomb raid and he is such a baby like so much baby but he meets his two friends - Xiaoge (Zhang Qiling) and Pangzi (Wang Yueban). They have an adventure, his Sanshu decides it's too much of an adventure and sends Wu Xie home. It's fine and he's fine but then Sanshu tries to keep even more adventures from him.
so like any other spoiled and beloved child, he just decides to go find more adventures on his own, which means he runs into the mercenary leader yet again and this time she feels he can help? He also meets up with his two friends and fine, he is a puppy and he loves them both - just in different ways.
more adventures and during them he starts being less puppy while still being one. again there's nothing really bad about it as he goes through all these mysteries and tries to figure it out all while pretending to be his missing Sanshu which already he is starting to learn how to go scum himself, and then Xiaoge knocks him out and goes behind the Big Scary Bronze Doors of DOOOOM and Wu Xie just is not happy about that.
he especially is not happy when he learns about this group of people called Wang trying to destroy Xiaoge, and the Nine, and he becomes even less impressed when they try to kill him while using corrupted members of the Nine. He starts to get a little driven.
okay it's a lot driven as he searches for Xioage's history and finds more nutty stuff, and then he hires this blindman to teach him how to fight and survive and that inbetween drugging him on snake venom. And the snake venom holds all these years and mysteries in it so he gets all more unhinged about taking these forces out and that dissolves into him getting worse than his uncle in the whole 'destroy everything and salt the earth' madness. it even includes kidnapping mental torture real torture and so on.
and then one of the wang tracks him down and slits his throat and even that? is part of his plans.
